My name is Spencer Muirhead, I am a graduate from the University of Toronto. From 2014-2019 I played on the University of Toronto Varsity Blues Baseball team where I was part of a championship team in 2017. I have played baseball since I was 12 and have always been interested in improving my baseball skills. For most of my baseball career I have played with Baseball Oshawa. However in the last five – six summers I have played all over the world. In the summer of 2014, I played in Germany and the Netherlands with Planet Baseball. In the same summer, I participated in the United States of America Baseball Federation (USABF) 2014 World Series in San Diego. In 2015, I played in Collegiate Baseball League of Europe where I was able to play in Prague, France, the Netherlands and Barcelona. In addition during 2015, I was ranked as an 8 overall by Perfect Game and was named to the Rawlings Top Prospect Team. I played in the Virginia Beach Collegiate Baseball League during the summers of 2016/2017 (VBCBL).

In 2022, I played for the Schewacht Blue Bats in the Austrian Baseball League. I helped the team reach the playoffs, aided in running practices, and helped improve the compete level within the group. I lead the team in RBIs, walks, doubles, and finished in the top 3 in batting average. I was a finalist in the All Star Selection of the League as a catcher.

From a coaching standpoint, I have been a university assistant coach with York University since 2019. In 2021, I became a head coach with a 15u elite team. I have remained as an assistant coach with that same 15u team which has moved on to the 16u age group. I have also worked at a baseball facility where I helped lead elite baseball camps and provided private lessons.

I am looking to continue to play baseball at the professional level. I pride myself in working hard and getting better everyday in order to compete at the highest level possible. I have always been a team player and want to do everything I can to help my team win ball games. I am a catcher but I can play multiple positions such as 3rd/1st base and left or right field.

Abilities summary: Pop: 1.98, 2.01 (June 2019). Line drive swing. Looks to hit to all fields and have quality at bats. Can play multiple positions corner infield and outfield. Can pitch if needed.

This document provides a reference for Spencer Muirhead who has played for the Schwechat Blue Bats in the Austrian Baseball Bundesliga through the 2022 Regular Season. Spencer has been a very valuable contributor to the Blue Bats both as a player and a coach of our youth Teams.
As a catcher Spencer helped guide and manage our pitchers during games and in pregame and provided very strong on-field leadership. He was both defensively very strong as well as providing an important bat in our line-up with very good plate discipline and batting skills. He hit for a high average and had good power that complimented his defensive skills as a catcher.
Importantly Spencer is a very intelligent baseball player and helped our club with a lot of details related to our youth training and organization and to improving our in game awareness of situations and readiness to respond. He was a very good teammate and supported other players in their efforts to improve as well as working hard to support the club with infrastructure improvements.
We have enjoyed having him play with us and contribute to our organization both as a very good player and coach.
