Personal
Hunter is a well-rounded player, with good skills offensively and defensively.
At the plate, he hits for average and power, can hit to all fields, and handles off-speed pitches well.
Defensively, he is quick and has a good first step to the ball, which helps him get into proper position to make plays. He’s grown up playing shortstop but has played the other infield positions at one time or another.
“Playing the demanding position of shortstop for so long gives me an advantage when playing the other spots,” he says. “I feel like I can fit into any type of baseball atmosphere. I work as hard as possible, interact well with my teammates, and display a good sense of humor. I do whatever I can to help others and create solid team chemistry.”
Hunter also has some coaching experience that he can lend to a club. He has been assistant coach for a 15-under team and head coach of an 18-under club. He says, “I have played at all types of levels. My high school team was ranked #9 in the nation, and I’ve played in very competitive situations in junior college and college. I can pass along my knowledge and experience to other players and also give them good life lessons.”
