Personal

Hunter is a well-rounded player, with good skills offensively and defensively.

At the plate, he hits for average and power, can hit to all fields, and handles off-speed pitches well.

Defensively, Hunter is quick and has a good first step to the ball, which helps him get into proper position to make plays.  He’s grown up playing shortstop but has played the other infield positions at one time or another.  “Playing the demanding position of shortstop for so long gives me an advantage when playing the other spots.”

“I feel like I can fit into any type of baseball atmosphere.  I work as hard as possible but also interact with teammates a lot and display a good sense of humor. At the same time, I do whatever I can to help others and create solid team chemistry.”

Career Highlights

Hunter batted .345 as a junior at Avila University in Kansas City, MO (USA), with a .463 on-base percentage.   As a senior, he is currently averaging .342 with eight home runs, 27 RBI, a .420 on-base percentage, and a .762 OPS.

Prior to attending Avila, he played at Southwestern Community College near San Diego, CA (USA), and batted .287 with a .786 OPS during the 2016-17 season.

Coaching

Hunter has actual coaching experience, having been an assistant coach for an under-15 team in 2019 and then serving as head coach for an under-18 team the following season.

“I have grown up playing nothing baseball year-round and have played at all types of levels.  My high school team was ranked #9 in the nation, and I’ve played in very competitive situations in junior college and college. I think I can pass forward my knowledge and experience to other players and also give them good life lessons.”

Overseas Goals

“I have always wanted to play overseas and travel to different countries and experience new things, places, and situations. I have had multiple friends that have played overseas and told me it was the best experience of their lives.”
