Personal

Henry has played second base, shortstop, and third base at the college level, so he lends versatility to a club.  He hits with a high on-base percentage, and has quality pop from the left side. He has a high baseball IQ, a level head, and very good speed, having run the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds.

He is an aggressive player, one not afraid to get his uniform dirty – “a dedicated worker excited to continue the growth/grind.”  Henry describes himself as a “leader and passionate, supportive team player.”

He was planning to play at the University of Colorado – Pueblo (USA) in 2020, but the season was canceled because of Covid-19. Since then, he has been training and coaching at Lane Community College in Eugene, OR.

A genuine fan and student of the game, with a ‘swing like Jason Werth’.  He is a lively leader on the diamond; vehemently vacuums the dirt and grass, and promoting an ‘everybody plays everywhere’ future for baseball.  Henry loves to lead by example, challenge himself, and promote passion for those around.

Coaching

Henry would welcome the chance to assist the coaching staff of a club.  He has coaching experience already, having been an independent instructor, an instructor at a baseball training facility, and a player/coach while in high school.  Currently, he is the assistant coach for the Lane Community College Titans.

Overseas goals

Henry says he would be elated to have an opportunity to play and/or coach overseas and be able to “explore baseball culture outside the U.S.” He would like to integrate into a community/culture while playing, sharing knowledge, and helping expand interest in the game globally. He would also like to leverage an overseas experience as a way of getting into professional ball in the U.S., while also gaining important life experience.

Tyson Heinz (UofNevadaReno CF): "Henry has transformed me into a better baseball player on and off the field. He's taught me that the only person you're battling is yourself and once you understand that, you'll be able to play free. Henry completely changed the way that I thought about baseball and made it an enjoyable game again, even when I wasn't producing. Baseball is a mentally draining sport and Henry has helped me dig my way out of slumps many, many times. I wouldn't be anywhere close to where I am without his constant mentorship and support to help me achieve my dream. #1ove "

Dylan McLaughlin (Saint Martins 3B): " Playing under Coach Lovekamp for two years at Lane CC, was an extremely pivotal time in my baseball career. His grasp of the mental side of baseball is what sets him apart from previous coaches I've played under. My teammates and I felt comfortable turning to Coach Lovekamp whenever we had questions regarding baseball or anything off the field that was bothering us. He was always there to congratulate us after a big win or help us improve on whatever we needed for the next practice after a bad loss. There was a noticeable difference in the teams that had Coach Lovekamp a part of them because of the team unity and camaraderie. He understands the importance of team bonding and would schedule events outside of baseball to help the team connect. Having him as my infield and hitting coach helped me become the player I am today. I made noticeable jumps as a player from my time under Coach Lovekamp and attributed my success to him."
