Personal

I am a command pitcher, I am the type of pitcher to get weak outs. Can command multiple pitches. I am a contact hitter that can display power. I have an extremely good ability to put the bat on ball. I am a tough out and competitor at the plate. I am pesky and will scratch and claw every inch in the box. In my 5 completed years of college baseball, I have only 21 strikeouts in 139 games played. I possess some speed and a high IQ on the base paths. Not afraid to take an extra base when needed. On defense, I make very little errors and make the fundamental plays. I pride myself on my defense and being able to execute it well. Top exit velo for hitting is 102. Velo from the outfield is 85. I have recent experience at multiple positions and I am willing to play whatever position is needed.

I am the type of teammate who looks to help make the people around me better. I always will prioritize getting my work in and will always look for extra work to get better. I am hungry to get better and hungry to win and compete. I bring energy, a great attitude, hustle and effort every single day. I have a passion about the game of baseball that started when I was young. I will pour every ounce of my body for baseball. I care so much for this game and what it has to offer people. If you looked at an x-ray of my heart it would be in the shape of a baseball. I want to share my love and passion for the game to people of different countries. I can be a vocal leader when needed, but I lead by example more often. I will always be there for my teammates, no time is ever wasted helping them and I am more than happy to help them with their baseball. In the dugout I like to keep it loose and fun and help remind my teammates that we play a difficult game but it’s a game that is meant to be fun. I care about my teammates success and care about the teams success. I will always be there for the team and my teammates.

Career highlights

I will have played six years of college baseball and with those six years, I have also played in 4 different summer collegiate leagues. I played two different years in the Northwoods with two different teams. The summer of 2022 I played with the Fond Du Lac Dockspiders and in 2023 I played with the Fond Du Lac Dockspiders and the Thunder Bay Bordercats. In my freshman year of college I was second in Division 3 for toughest to strike out. I have been in the Top 50 for toughest to strike out in Division 3 my junior year and freshman year of college. In fielding I am top in the conference for least amount of errors made in the field. In the summer of 2022 in the Northwoods I had a .423 batting average and overall for the summer in the two leagues I hit .417. I was able to win a conference championship my senior year at Crown College.

Coaching

I am looking to play baseball overseas for multiple seasons but on top of that I want to help coach the future generation of baseball players. I love teaching the game of baseball and have a genuine passion for the game. I am organized, punctual, and have a desire for the game. I do not have too much experience as a coach but I am willing to learn and help wherever help can be provided. I am very knowledgeable about the game and knowledgeable about the mechanics of the game of baseball.

Overseas Goals

I want to play baseball for multiple years overseas. It was one of my goals to continue playing baseball after college and that is what I am set out to achieve. I just love playing baseball and want to continue playing wherever that is. I want to help teams win league championships and help teams win in general. I want to bring a passion to baseball in different countries. I want to help the next generation of overseas baseball players on the field and off the field. I want to help coach the next generation of players as well and help foster their love for the game of baseball. Baseball is in my blood and it is something I want to help expose to every corner of the globe. Baseball is an amazing sport and I want to help whoever I can in baseball achieve their goals. I am person who enjoys new experiences and traveling and that is another reason for taking my career overseas.

I am still playing college baseball as this is my last year of eligibility. We practice all fall up till the middle of October due to the location of my school. I workout 5-6 times a week for weight training and mobility and on top of that I do skills training 5 times a week. For fall practice we have practice every single day except on the weekends. I do extra work hitting 2-3 times a week extra. During the winter I workout 6 times a week and do baseball skills and hitting 3-4 times a week. I am always working on baseball and perfecting my craft. Weight training has become something I have learned more about throughout college.

Bailey Sarto

Assistant Coach, Olympic College; Teammate at Crown College

Personally, I have known Chad for just over 5 years. As a person, he is as good as they come. Competitiveness, respect, and passion are three words that I would utilize to describe him best. Over his career, we played side by side at Crown College, and for the Mcpherson Pipeliners in the KCBL. During that time, we spent countless hours in the weight room, taking extra practice reps, and spending quality time off the field together. I enjoyed every second of it. His competitiveness always shook me. He is someone that can turn up the focus level on demand. I would actively try and compete against him every chance I could, because I knew it would take my best effort and focus to beat him. He was a true teammate in that regard.

Respect is a trait that is dying in the sporting world today. Chad is a part of a rare breed of guys that will beat you on the field, the right way, and then want to meet you for dinner after. It is truly amazing, his ability to separate on and off the field competition in that regard. He always supported his teammates, staff, and friends extremely well. Looking back at all the years I have known him, I would bet that you can't find one person he has crossed in a negative manner.

Passion. When I say I don't know many people who are more passionate about baseball than Chad, I mean it. In the middle of the summer, hot and humid Kansas, he would drag me to the gym for morning workouts. Even when we couldn't find a gym at times, he found a way to lock one down. He would lead workouts on an open field at some park if you let him. Hearing that he wants to continue his dreams of overseas baseball doesn't surprise me one bit. His passion has fueled his career thus far, and will for as long as he wants!

Chad is someone that will make any team, organization, or group better. He leads by example, cares about the people he is around, and will give you every ounce of himself.

I will always stand by Chad, not only as a reference, but as a friend and teammate.

Scott Lacey

Pitching Coach, Southwestern University

Chad is a tremendous young man who is skilled, highly intelligent, incredibly hard working and always does the right thing. As a coach you can't ask for a better student, he isn't afraid to ask questions, does not have an ego and always brings his best effort and focus. Chad also has empathy for people and gets along with everyone - last offseason he hit with players ranging from MLB, MILB, NPB, KBO, D1, D2, D3, Juco and treated everyone the same. He always helped picking up and was always willing to help everyone else.

On the field, he has great bat control and barrel accuracy. Can spray the ball to all fields and can foul off/be a pest in the box. Great competitor - won't give in to a challenge but will also do what the team needs him to do (Move a runner, Sac bunt, Hit and run). Knows his strengths and stays with them.

Defensively - Can play most positions (C, 1B, 2B, 3B, LF) and knows fundamentally where to be and how to make the routine play.
