Personal

Alex is a gap-to-gap hitter who makes consistent hard contact. His exit velocity has measured in the low-100s (mph). He has great plate discipline and draws many walks, getting on base consistently to help his team score and ultimately win.

He also has plus speed, which makes him an asset defensively and on the base paths.

Alex is primarily an outfielder and has professional experience in all three outfield spots. He also has experience as a first baseman and relief pitcher. As a pitcher, he features good movement on all his pitches, including a two-seam, change-up and breaking ball.

Alex describes himself as a person who is a “leader and lead-by-example type of teammate who especially locks in during game days. I always am looking for ways to gain an edge in my routines, prep work and mental game, and I constantly seek out opportunities to connect with and aid my teammates, both on and off the field. I always have a smile on my face and try my best to take the positives out of every situation.”

He works out regularly at a training facility similar to Driveline Baseball, utilizing data and advanced tools to stay in top condition and continually improve his skills.

Alex also loves coaching and can assist a club’s staff. He has significant experience as an instructor at multiple training facilities, and he has also worked as a private instructor, giving lessons and camps to kids of all ages.

Career Highlights

  • Most improved player senior year of high school
  • Over .300 average and .400 on-base percentage in last summer season played- .340/.436/.404 slash line
  • Had .300+ batting average and .400+ OPB in last season of competitive men’s league
  • Starting right fielder in first season at junior-college level
  • Starting outfielder at all 3 positions in first professional season (2022) with ~.300 average and .400+ OBP and SLG

Overseas Goals

Alex wants to extend his playing career by going overseas. He aspires to be a coach and/or front-office person and envisions an overseas assignment as a way to make connections and help impact the game globally.

In addition, he would enjoy the opportunity to see more of the world, meet new people, experience new cultures, and work to bring a championship to whatever club he’s on.

Earl Caruthers

Optimum Athletes Hitting Coordinator

Dear Prospective Baseball Program:
This is my open letter recommending Alex Dailey for your International Baseball program.
I have worked with and coached Alex for the past year and a half at Optimum Athletes in Sacramento, California. During that time, Alex has exhibited all the qualities necessary to play for your program. He has shown a passion for learning the game and is a very coachable athlete. He has shown that he can hit for power to all fields and hit for average. The thing that I have enjoyed the most, though, is watching Alex go from player to coach. At Optimum Athletes, Alex is my lead hitting trainer. This is where I have seen him convey a variety of hitting approaches and philosophies to our athletes. Above anything are his strong standards of fairness and integrity, and competition. He will always hold himself to a high standard on and off the field.
I am sorry to see Alex leave Optimum Athletes. After seeing him exhibit his potential, the next logical step is to play for your program. For that reason, I recommend Alex Dailey to play for your international program.
I wish both Alex and your program an abundance of success. Please do not hesitate to call me if you have further questions.
Yours in Baseball,
Earl Caruthers,
Optimum Athletes Hitting Coordinator
