Rhett Feser is a standout Canadian left handed starting pitcher out of one the best college baseball programs in Canada, Prairie Baseball Academy who are associated with Lethbridge University. In 2017 he was named the Canadian College Baseball Conference (CCBC) Pitcher of the Year and selected to the First Team All-Conference after going 5-0 with an era of 1.41 while holding batters to a measly .160 batting average. He led his team to their seventh straight CCBC championship and was their starting pitcher in the championship game.
Rhett took his career overseas in 2018 to play for UVV of the Dutch second division. He has since played in the highly competitive NBSBL to finish off 2018 and for the 2019 season.
Rhett describes his pitching repertoire as a four seam fastball with good, late movement with a velo sitting 86-89 mph topping out at 90-91 mph. His curveball has sharp, hard break at 72-75 mph and his best pitch is his circle changeup coming from a good, deceptive arm motion with late break ranging from 74-78 mph. Rhett is also comfortable swinging the bat and has been given ample opportunity to do so over the years while playing summer baseball in his home town of Unity, Saskatchewan with a local mens league team. He also enjoys coaching and would be open to an assistant coaching role on a youth team for any club overseas which signs him. Rhett on why he decided to take his career overseas:
“I love baseball, playing it, being around it, everything about it. I am very competitive and want to continue playing this game at a very high level as long as I can. I also see this as a great opportunity to see the world.”
