I am a versatile player who will play 110% and never take a pitch off. I am very competitive player, who plays the game hard. I am a tough out and a weapon in the outfield, on the base paths and hitting. In junior year of college, selected to the All-NWC conference team, honorable mention. As a senior, worked hard and started to hit with more power, selected to the All-NWC Conference team, 1st team.
Abilities summary: I’m a leadoff hitter with some power. I value my defensive qualities, such as my jumps and throws as my most valuable asset. I am a fast runner ruling a 6.9 60 yard dash. I will hit for average as well as hit for power. I am a tenacious player, who plays the game with everything I have. I leave everything on the field.

Matt has come a long way in the two years I have known him. When I took over the program, Matt was one of our top players, but also one of our most volatile. He had a hard time dealing things if they didn't go his way, mainly due to the previous coaching staff's complete lack of accountability for it's players. So when I cam in and preached accountability, Matt wasn't immediately on board. However, over his senior season, Matt has done a complete 180. While he had a really good junior year, setting a program record with 17 doubles and playing lock down defense in CF, he still wasn't reaching his peak. That all changed as well last year, as he became truly dedicated to his training in the weight room, in the cages and on the field. The result was a very mature player, who was a terror on other teams at the top of our batting order. He still hit a bunch of doubles, but also added some pop, hitting 6 HRs and becoming much more of a threat on the bases, where he is a slightly above average runner with very good overall awareness. On top of that, he played an even better CF, where he tracked down just about every ball to go with his already above average arm. The result was him being our first 1st team all-conference player in a while, despite the fact that we finished eighth in the conference. Off the field, Matt has grown tremendously over the past two years. He was a better student, teammate and overall person. He is great with children, including my son, and is working as an instructor in our Youth Camps this summer. While Matt has the skill set needed to continue his career, perhaps the best tool he possesses is his competitiveness. Matt hates to lose and will leave everything he has on the field.
