Personal

Garett is a consistent hitter who sprays the ball all over the field with exit velocities in the 90s (mph). He is a very strong situational hitter with the ability to drive balls deep into the gaps.

The velocity on his throws from the infield range in the mid-80s (mph), while his throws from the outfield range in the upper 80s.

Defensively, he has primarily been a second baseman and shortstop, but he can also slot in at third base or ink the outfield. In the outfield, he gets quick reads on hits and can track down balls hit into the gaps.

Garett describes himself as a “lead-by-example type and a vocal leader. I would organize training sessions during the off-season with teammates. I will gladly help teammate if they are having issues because it would not only help benefit my teammate as an individual but the team as a whole.”

He is following a personalized training regimen consisting of weightlifting, sprint work, defensive drill sets, and offensive drill sets like the Axe bat training program.

He also has coaching experience that a team can leverage. He has been a private instructor for youths and also has served as an assistant coach at the high-school level. In the latter role, he has run the offensive training program, coordinated infield defensive work and run the weight and conditioning program. He says, “I bring experience, enthusiasm, and knowledge of proper fundamentals.”

Testimonials

Brent Casteel

Bob Jones University, Baseball Head Coach

I’ve known Garett, I believe, since he was in Junior High and he has been consistent in character and work ethic as long as I’ve known him. As a player, Garett gives it all, on the game and practice field. I’ve always known him to be the player that did more than he was asked. He has a solid skill set at the plate and in the field. He presents himself with class off the field as well. His baseball IQ is excellent. He enjoys people and communicates well. I think Garett will do a great job teaching the game to help young men advance.

William King

Dr. Phillips High School, Baseball Head Coach

I have known Garett since he was a sophomore in high school when I started coaching him almost eight years ago. Garett was a significant contributor to our success both on the field and off. You will be hard-pressed to find someone who has the baseball IQ and work ethic that Garett does. He is one of the hardest-working players I have had the privilege of coaching in the last ten years. Garett shows up to the field with a passion and work ethic to back up his abilities at the plate and on the field. Garett recently joined my coaching staff. His impact has been immediate; our infielders have improved every week through his coaching and his ability to impart high-level knowledge in a way young high school-aged players can understand and execute.

If you need anything else please let me know. I apologize for the length, I figured the more detailed the better.

Garett is most importantly a high character individual. His work ethic is extremely strong and he shows a willingness to do what he needs to do to be the best baseball player he can be. Garett's baseball IQ is high. He knows what to do and when to do. His glove is very strong. He has very good gap to gap power and very good bat control. In my experience, Garett will give you everything he has both on the field and off the field. He will be a great addition to your team.
