Frank Gailey is a left-handed starting pitcher who was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 23rd round of the 2007 MLB draft after posting a 2.25 era with 65 strikeouts over 64 innings for West Chester University (NCAA II) in his junior year.

Frank spent 8 years in the minors most of which was with the Blue Jays and the majority in AA ball. Since 2015 he has been with the York revolution of the Atlantic League and most recently signed on with the Canberra Cavalry of the Australian Baseball League for the 2017-2018 winter where he led the Cavalry to the ABL championship behind a league-leading 1.80 era.

In his 11 seasons of professional baseball, Frank has an era of 3.06 over 897.2 innings pitched and 807 strikeouts to only 272 walks.

Throughout his affiliated career he was used out of the bullpen, but since 2015 has been as starter which is where he is most comfortable. Throwing from multiple arm angles, Frank’s fastball sits 87-91 mph and is complimented by a change-up, breaking ball and a splitter.

Frank on why he wants to take his career overseas:

“Ultimately my dream of the big leagues never got accomplished but my love and drive for the game grew stronger so I went to the Atlantic league to showcase myself and continue to do what I love. After 2.5 seasons there I felt it is time to see what the world has to offer and enjoy the cultures that I want to know more about.”

Paul Fletcher

Pitching Coach, York revolution

Fran pitches from 3/4 to low 3/4 arm angle . Stays on line gets good extension through to finish. Arm works well. Very deceptive hides ball well. Solid overall mechanics. Fb- 89-91 w plus arm side run and sink. Sneaky late movement. Commands pitch well. Can go in on hitters and get weak contact. SL-78-80 small tilt uses well to LHH and as a back door to RHH. Chg- best out pitch - great arm action w plus movement sink down and away from RHH. Swing and miss pitch. Can throw it any count and beat hitters. Frank is an aggressive pitcher who understands how to pitch in all situations. He goes deep into games and gives team chance to win every outing. Throws strikes And has command of of his pitches. Great guy in clubhouse and fierce competitor on the field. Good work ethic and enjoys playing the game. He will help team win a lot of ball games. Never missed a start and stuff good enough to fill any role needed.
