2020-Present Skills Trainer CJII (Charles JonesII) Youth-Highschool My Job at CJII is to get the next generation to get out of the mindset that instant gratification is the way to go when in reality the best things in life take time. We build strong-minded athletes to know when resistance comes to embrace it because it makes you stronger. I want my athletes to realize on the days they may not feel their best that's okay because they are not going to feel 100% every day, but on the days they don't feel like giving all they have is where the real progression and grit occurs.

Ty Unger

Lincoln Christian University Baseball Coach

I had the privilege to coach Charles for two years. Charles is a guy with raw talent and athletic ability that will succeed no matter what position he is put in. Charles came to Lincoln Christian University as a utility guy that needed some work. But, in the 5 years that I coached at the collegiate level, Charles is by far the most coachable player that I have ever had. His work ethic to be the best is there. He is the guy that you will find on the field for hours before and after practice, the guy that doesn’t stop working on off days, and the guy that will listen to any advice that someone wants to share with him. He is self driven, but fueled by his coaches and teammates. He is the ultimate team player and will sacrifice anything for his team to succeed. Charles won’t be your homerun hitter, but will find the gaps. His defensive skills are some of the best as you will be impressed with his hands and fundamentals that will be in every play.

Darrion Smith

Former Teammate at Lincoln Christian University

Charles is a great teammate on the field and off the field. Charles have help me overcome many obstacles in my life while being my teammate for two years. As a pitcher I was so blessed to have Charles at second base to make all the tough plays. Charles is the type of player that will put in hundreds of hours to achieve his dream of playing professional baseball.

Connor Trexler

Lincoln Christian University Head Coach

Charles is the definition of what it means to have high character. He carried a positive attitude day in and day out, never letting negative emotions show on the field and always picked the right times to pick up his teammates. Charles was also the first one to show up to practice every day, showing up mentally and physically prepared. Furthermore, he was typically one of the ones asking for reps after practice as well.

On the field, Charles was one of our best sticks this past year and hit in our four-hole the entire spring. He is a line-drive hitter and very intelligent about putting himself in good counts to do damage. He showed major improvement last year and still has the room to improve with the right support.
