Personal

Zachary has a fast ball that ranges from the mid-80s to 90 (mph).  His slider averages in the low 80s, his change-up in the high 80s and his curve in the low to mid-70s.  He says he has the ability to use effective velocity, tunneling, and pitch sequencing to get outs.

As a hitter, he is a run producer with power to all fields and good plate discipline.

Zachary also has a significant amount of coaching experience.  He was head coach of a team of 13-18-yearolds for five seasons, assistant coach at the high school level for three years, a youth camp instructor on several occasions, and a private instructor.

He describes himself as one who can manage a pitching staff and help hitters understand how to compete against certain types of pitching.  He communicates well with players and strategizes effectively with other members of a coaching staff – “My passion for playing has turned into a passion for coaching.”

He says, “I am an extroverted guy in the clubhouse and excited to be at the ballpark every day. Passionate about helping the club win and helping teammates be their best.”

Zachary works out to stay in top condition, trains regularly, takes live batting practice and competes in scrimmages with the high-school team he helps coach.

Zach has really found a drive to not only connect with kids of all ages but really try and communicate with each player individually. he tries to speak clearly so players understand what he is trying to convey. He works hard, not only to try and help kids, but develop himself and learn as a coach. He has this open mind that allows new ideas to mesh with his experience and what he has gone through personally. Having played multiple positions and levels also allows him to speak from several different areas. He not only is a good coach but one that is trying to help his players get better and learn along the way himself!
