Personal

Zachary is a versatile utility player who is effective at second base, shortstop and all three outfield spots.  He played second base in high school, second base and the outfield as a college freshman, shortstop his next three seasons, and then outfield in his fifth year.  The exit velocity on his throws across the infield ranges in the low 80s (mph) and in the mid-80s from the outfield.  He has good speed, as well, having been clocked in as little as 6.7 seconds in the 60-yard dash.

He is a good leadoff hitter with some pop and a good eye at the plate.  He consistently posts high on-base percentages.

Zachary is an energetic, supportive teammate who tends to lead by example but can be a vocal leader when necessary.

He also has experience as an assistant coach at the college level, and he would be excited about helping a club’s coaching staff.

Joe Wilkins

Tiffin University Head Coach

Zach has the balance of every tool you want in a player to develop a team, with diverse ability to play multiple positions. He can play all of the outfield positions and both middle infield positions. In a pinch, he can also conserve a bullpen with a spot appearance. He is not going to overpower anyone but he would get outs. Zach is a great human being and would be a zero risk player off the field. I would put my name on Zach to be a perfect utility guy (with coaching experience) to help your organization!

Eric Marriott

Moose Jaw Miller Express Head Coach

Zach is a tremendous ball player and even better person. He is a 5 tool player who is best at the top of the lineup. He can play multiple positions with plus ability, all while being a leader. Zach will make any team better on & off the field.

Sean McNeill

Tucson Saguaros Manager
seanmcneill@tucsonsaguarosbaseball.com

My name is Sean McNeill and I’m the manager of the Tucson Saguaros. I’m writing this on behalf of Zach Campbell.

If you’re not familiar with the Tucson Saguaros, since taking over in 2020 we are 124-48. 4 championship appearances, 2 championship won, 26 players promoted to higher independent leagues, 32 all-stars including Zach, 2 pitchers of the year, and 2 offensive players of the year.

This year I invited Zach to spring training and wasn’t sure how he was going to fare with the talent I bring into spring training. That doubt was quickly eliminated when I saw him play. The kid is a straight gamer. It doesn’t matter if he’s facing the NAIA pitcher of the year, 95+, or an ex-affiliated pitcher, his demeanor and his approach stays the same. No moment seems too big for him. He’s literally up for the challenge and is successful the majority of the time.

Defensively, he’s one of the smoothest middle infielders I’ve seen play. He makes the routine plays but he makes a lot of plays that a middle infielder shouldn’t get to and makes hard plays look routine.

Like I said before, he’s a GAMER!!!

I would 100% endorse Zach to any manager or coach. I have already mentioned his name to several managers in the Pioneer League, Frontier League, and American Association. If he’s available, I wouldn’t hesitate to take him. He won’t be available long.
