Veteran international baseball player & youth coach with ABL experience
Name: Will Thorp
DOB: February 27, 1992
Positions (alt): 1B, 3B, OF
SIGNED FOR 2016-2017 WINTER AND 2017 SUMMER.
In 2013 Will Thorp graduated from the very prestigious baseball program of the Lewis-Clark State College where he spent time sharing the role as starting catcher. The winter of 2014-2015 was his overseas experience playing for the Northern Districts Reds in very competitive South Australian State League. His solid performance there at the plate and as a top notch defensive catcher earned him a call up to the Adelaide Bite of the Australian Baseball League to finish out the season.
After the Australian winter he spent the 2015 summer playing in Europe for the Dornbirn Indians of the Austrian Baseball League. There he finished 3rd in the league hitting with a batting average of.471 while winning the First Team Catcher and Gold Glove Catcher awards.
Will spent the winter of 2015-2016 playing baseball in the Queensland State League in Australia for the Pine Hills Lightening. He was also picked up by the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League late in the season.
Will signed on with the Munich-Haar disciples for the 2016 summer who play in both the German Bundesliga (first division) and the new professional league in Europe, the Euro League baseball.
Will has great numbers at the plate both in Australia and Europe but it is his abilities as a catcher that separate him from other catchers. His consistent 1.9 glove to bag pop time is what makes Will so valuable to any club looking to shut down the running game. He is a veteran international player who plays a hard nosed game. I can speak from experience that Will is also a great team guy on and off the field. He has gap-to-gap power and good speed on the base paths. He is also very good in the outfield and has a gun for an arm.
Will has experience coaching men and young adults as he was the assistant coach for the Dornbirn Indians and is currently the head coach of the Pine Hills U20 team.

Baseball Director Operations Manager
Northern Districts Baseball Club, Australia.
To whom it may concern, Will Thorp has been a huge asset & outstanding player for the Northern Districts Baseball Club in our 2014/15 season. He has surpassed all expectations that myself as a Baseball Director & Head Team Manager & that our club seek from a International (import player) Baseballer.
As a player he has been the perfect 3 hole hitter for us, leading the team in batting avg., most doubles & most triples. His defensive skills & hard work behind the plate is some of the best I’ve seen in our State League in my 35yrs as a past player & now manager, & as a result has earnt himself ‘the call up’ half way through the season by our professional team The Adelaide Bite who went onto play in the 2015 ABL National Championship Series.
Around the club his professionalism & leadership is second too none. He has brought a new dimension to our Senior Squad Trainings with his insight & baseball knowledge. He has been a huge role model & favourite around the club with all our junior players & is constantly busy conducting private one on one skills training with the kids & some seniors.
In the past 10yrs the Northern Districts Baseball Club have acquired the services of over 20 International Baseball players & Will Thorpe would be one of the best we’ve had, on & of the field. I can not speak highly enough of him & have no problem recommending with no doubt that he will bring to your team/club what u are looking for.
If you have any other quiries do not hesitate to contact me, Yours in baseball, Darren Peacock.
Northern Districts Baseball Club, Australia.
To Whom It May Concern, Northern Districts baseball club are informing the person or persons requiring this information that
Will Thorp would be an excellent acquisition to any baseball team/club. As a player / catcher
Will is hard working and leads from the beginning, he is always there to share his knowledge with the younger players and even the guys who played a lot. Will loves the game and it has been a
pleasure to watch him play and lead the team this season, he is at the field 7 days a week with
team training 2 or 3 times a week and personal training at the gym. Will also does one on one
training with juniors and seniors 3 nights a week, umpires games when required also.
Will this season was also chosen to play with the South Australian national side (Adelaide Bite) which was in the championship series playoff this year, Will held his own playing with best Australia has. This is were Will should be playing his baseball at all times, catching AAA and AA pitchers and running the defence and throwing outs at second.
We have had imports for many years now, Will is a natural talent he bats, throws, catches and teaches very well which rare. We had a chat on what his outlook for his future was going to be and he answered with coaching baseball as his career, even if he had to go back to college to get degrees to do so. Will has the right attitude and knowledge to do everything that is required of him to further his playing career in the game.
Will is looking for a club in Europe for Summer 2016 who is willing to pay his flights, offer a small salary large enough to cover expenses and provide accommodations.
