Personal

Pop time 1.8, right handed contact hitter

I bring a lot of competitive, vocal energy to the field when I’m catching and pride myself in my relationships with my pitchers. In my first season overseas, I took on a leadership role sharing the knowledge I’ve gained from playing at both the NCAA Division 1 and 2 levels in the U.S. I lead by example by consistently putting in extra reps outside of practice, bringing the energy up during practice and games, and by prioritizing positive communication with my team and coaches to best serve the program. My command of my defense is one of my defining characteristics as a player, and I’m able to do so because of the trust my teammates and I build together on and off the field.

I played first base during travel and high school softball. I’m able to transfer many of my skills from catching to first base as well, and I love leading my team from the corner of the field. I exclusively caught during my collegiate career and only had a few opportunities to play first during my summer pro season, but this fall I’m working with my old college softball team getting reps in at first base to prepare myself for the winter season.

Coaching

I’ve trained with Jen Schroeder since I was 12 years old, and continue to coach at her elite catching retreats. I specialize in coaching catchers and running team defense/team defensive plays, and I also love working with hitters individually on their swing mechanics and plate approaches. One of my strengths as a coach is my ability to communicate the why behind what I’m teaching. I’m the type of athlete that’s very academically inclined and learns best through demonstration and strategy, and I’ve learned that I can reach more players by teaching this way as well. Growing up in Southern California I had access to a huge concentration of high quality coaching that I’m passionate about sharing. My softball IQ and teaching style has been heavily influenced by my experience working with Jen Schroeder, and I love teaching young catchers about these advanced skills they may otherwise not be exposed to.

Overseas Goals

I want to continue playing softball overseas to contribute to the overall development of this sport while also strengthening myself as an athlete. The wealth of knowledge Jen Schroeder has passed on to me is something I’m passionate about sharing with as many teams and players as I can. Playing overseas is a privilege; long term, I want to play as many seasons overseas as I can in the next few years while making my way into more competitive leagues. Learning about the countries I’m traveling to and creating lasting relationships with the players and coaches I work with is important to me, and I’ll always be grateful to the game of softball for it.

Since completing my collegiate career and first pro season in Netherlands Silver League this summer (2022), I’ve returned to St. Edward’s University to finish my degree while practicing with my old college team. I’ve been given access to the facilities on campus and regularly participate in team practice, including catching bullpens and hitting live. I’m continuing to lift 2-3x a week as well to build strength before becoming available to play again in January 2023.
