As a catcher, Thomas has an average pop time to second base of between 1.90 and 2.00 seconds.  The velocity on his throws ranges in the low 80s (mph).  He had no experience as a catcher until he entered junior college, but he learned rapidly and received offers from multiple NCAA Division I schools.

He has also played third base, and the velocity on his throws from there ranges into the mid-80s (mph).

At the plate, he has good bat control and is a good situational hitter.  He has often his in the No. 2 spot in the lineup and sometimes at the eighth or ninth slot.  He is a switch-hitter who hits to all fields from either side of the plate.

Thomas describes himself as a very verbal teammate who is very positive. “I bring very high energy” to the game.  He is a hard worker and always looking for ways to make him and his teammates better.

He also has multiple of years of youth coaching experience that he would be able to lend to a club.  In addition, he helped younger players on his Division I team – “’We did not have a catching coach, so I and a teammate stepped up to help our younger teammates understand what high-level catchers need to be.”

Thomas trains and works out regularly to keep his baseball skills sharp and remain in top condition.

Michael Curran

Ohlone College Baseball Coach

Thomas is an outstanding young man who is dependable, hard working, and team oriented. Talent wise, he’s one of the best defensive catchers I’ve seen in over the past 10 years here in California. He has tremendous arm strength, he receives well, and possesses tremendous leadership abilities behind the plate. Offensively, Thomas has pop in the bat. He can run balls into the gap and has always been a clutch hitter. I’d be extremely excited to have Thomas Greely behind that plate for me and in the lineup.

Chris Rodriquez

Head Coach University of the Pacific

I would love to recommend Thomas Greely. Thomas is a gritty player that is a proven leader. Thomas was a pivotal member of the San Joaquin Delta College championship team in 2018, which finished ranked 2nd in the Nation. What I would say about Thomas is that he is a baseball player. He absolutely loves the game and will make players around him better!

Brian Whatley

Catching Coordinator San Diego Padres

I would like to highly recommend Thomas Greely for any organization. I have known and worked with Thomas for over 5 years and his knowledge of the game is one of the best I’ve coached. His ability to understand situational catching and apply it in order to game manage the desired outcome is a strength most catchers don’t have. One of the best receivers I have worked with and has the ability to shut down a run game. Thomas has always been able to show the toughness, grit and attitude it takes to lead from behind the dish and make his team better. Never had issues and his make-up is exceptional.
