Personal

Thomas Colaiacovo Jr is a Shortstop and a right handed pitcher who graduated from New Jersey City University (NCAA III) in 2015 and has since been invited to numerous pro tryouts and spring training’s and has signed 3 professional contracts (2 Shortstop 1 as a pitcher) . He has also continued to play in the New Jersey Adult Baseball League on the side after being released and has now decided that he wants to take his talents and knowledge overseas.

In high school, Tom was a gold glove shortstop and was the conference stolen base leader, so he is able to help out a club as a two-way player as well. Tom describes himself as a “very speedy shortstop with a ton of range who hits for power and average from the left side.

Tom was last clocked in the Empire League 2016 spring training as running a 6.6 – 60 yard dash.

Tom describes his pitching as throwing a low 2 and 4 seam fastball in the low 80’s with a change-up, slider, curve, and splitter.

Tom also brings with him 8 years of youth coaching experience at all ages. At 27, Tom is also comfortable coaching adults.

Any team looking for a pitcher, two-way player or player-coach is encouraged to reach out to Tom with any expressions of interest.

"I got a chance to spend three weeks with Tom Colaiacovo at the Hudson River League during September 2016. Tom is a hard working ballplayer who always has a smile when he's outside of the white lines. He battles and has good at bats and can also give you innings on the mound. He was always eager to learn and I'm sure has improved a lot since then. He would brighten up any club who gave him a chance and would improve your team. He would be an excellent junior coach as well. He will find a way to win!"

"Tom is one of the hardest worker players I have had in my 20 years coaching.  When he is given a drill to work on, he would work on it everyday for hours until he perfected it.   After working all day, Tom is the guy that goes to the gym at 1am because he has to get his repetitions in.   He is one of three players I have coached in 20 years, that no other kid has come close to working as hard.  Everything he is has, came from working for it.   He currently helps me develop my 16 and 17 year old teams that will be playing in college one day.   I know he will be a tremendous help to whatever organization he is part of.  Baseball is his passion and it shows in how he teaches, trains, and plays the game."

"Tom exemplifies the three characteristics of a player that I look for: passion, drive, and confidence that is unsurpassed by his peers. Tom has direction and he also possesses the will that is privied to only the truly sincere. High appearance guy, strike thrower...Good mid-inning relief with the poise and ability to get ground ball contact in tough situations. Upper 70's in our program a few years back. High character kid."
