Personal

Sirena is a good situational hitter with power from either side of the plate.  Defensively, she is primarily a second- or third basemen with quick feet, good hands and good range.  She also has some experience at shortstop, so she adds versatility to a club’s roster.

She is a very coachable player who is very supportive and brings a lot of energy to a team.  She is always willing to learn and put in extra work in the quest for continual improvement.  Sirena also has a lot of youth coaching experience and would be interesting in assisting a club’s coaching staff.

She continues to work out and train to stay in the best possible shape and keep her softball skills at a high level.  She also rock climbs and does distance running to further enhance her conditioning.

Testimonials

Paul Hunt

Benedictine College Head Coach

Sirena aka Smalls has an electric personality that is contagious to teammates and is great for the growth of our game. Smalls is a very versatile player that always puts together a professional at bat. She has many tools in her toolbox including the ability to play small ball but is able to exploit defenses when they try to take that side of her game away. I have always admired her talents as a player. But the thing that I have admired most is her character and ability to be a good teammate. I am confident that Smalls will be a great addition to your league.

Jordon Jones

MidAmerica Nazarene Head Coach

Sirena (aka Smalls) was a spark plug for us all year long. She has some of the best defensive instincts and hands I have ever coached. Smalls would run through a wall and back for the people she plays with and for the game itself. On top of just the softball IQ and skills that she possesses, she is one of the most down to earth and dependable people I know. Smalls truly is one of a kind. She is the kind of teammate that gets along with everyone and is a peacemaker for the team. She has great perspective and is contagious with her work ethic and light. I highly recommend Smalls for your overseas opportunities. I know she will make a great candidate and will make a huge positive impact with whoever she comes in contact with.

Myles Schoonover

Lee University Professor

Over the past three years, I have known and worked with Sirena in multiple capacities (as my student, as my student assistant, and as my employee). I first met Sirena in the fall of 2019 when she was a student in my religion course (BIBL-102) at Lee University. Sirena always actively participated in class and encouraged others to participate as well. All-in-all, Sirena was a huge part of making my first ever class successful. What immediately stood out to me was that unlike other student athletes, Sirena had a perfect attendance record. Making this even more impressive was the fact that the class met three times per week at 8 am! Sirena also attended every event outside of class including review sessions, guest speakers, etc. Because of all this hard work she helped lead study groups for other students. She of course earned an A in the class and her work ethic was so prodigious and memorable that the following semester I personally paid her to help me with office work.

In Dec. 2020, I left teaching and moved to Seattle to work for a municipal bond fintech startup named ficc.ai. Once again, I reached out to Sirena and hired her to help me with data entry and other important work that required a high attention to detail. I cannot speak highly enough of how much I personally respect Sirena and I would personally recommend her for any situation. She is a close friend, an excellent student, and a hard worker.
