Personal
Ryan has been primarily a relief pitcher, but he can also slot in as a starter, which has done in college and in independent professional action. In addition, he has experience playing first base and second base.
His pitching arsenal includes a four-seam fastball (low to mid-80s velocity), two-seam fastball (low 80s), splitter (mid-70s), and slider (mid-70s).
At the plate, Ryan is a contact hitter with a maximum exit velocity ranging in the low 90s (mph) with wood bat. Defensively, he has good speed (6.9 seconds in the 60-yard dash) and good lateral movement that enable him to cover a lot of ground.
Ryan is a very supportive teammate with a consistently positive outlook who describes himself as a ‘keep the clubhouse loose’ teammate. “In the dugout, I’m light-hearted, encouraging, and always working to foster a sense of team unity. On the field, I’m a high-energy, high-intensity competitor looking to do whatever I can to help the team win.”
During the off-season, Ryan follows a strict nutrition and weight-lifting program, and he also throws off the mound and works in the batting cages several times per week to remain in top condition.
In addition to playing, Ryan has youth coaching experience that he would be interested in applying to help a club’s coaching staff. He says, “I have several years of experience working in youth baseball and summer sports camps, which have allowed me to develop a sound coaching strategy and an understanding of the craft. Outside of baseball, I have worked in childcare and education for several years, so I am well-equipped to connect with and foster strong links with young people wanting to learn the game.”

Overseas Goals
Ryan wants to take his career overseas because it would be an excellent opportunity to keep playing, while simultaneously getting to “experience new cultures and see places I would otherwise not get to see. Also, I would love to help grow the game by coaching young players in places where the sport isn’t as widespread as it is in the U.S.”

Ryan is a true competitor and a good ball player. Ryan is the ultimate professional. Ryan was ready to pitch whenever called upon and competed every time he took the mound. Ryan showed great command and his ability to throw strikes gave us a chance to win whenever he was on the mound. In addition Ryan is a great teammate and a pleasure to have in your clubhouse. He is a guy that you want on your team.
I scouted Ryan two years ago and have remained in contact with him since then. By all accounts, Ryan is a great teammate. He's well-mannered, friendly, and brings a high level of energy to everything he does. Ryan also has an impressive work ethic. He was often the first player to arrive at a game or practice and the last to leave, usually taking additional reps or speaking with his coaches. In his primary position as a pitcher, Ryan displays a very high baseball IQ, with good command and speed changes. Elsewhere on the field, Ryan is extremely athletic and versatile defensively. He has above-average speed, but his hustle and hand-eye coordination make his defense stand out.
I've been working with Ryan for the last two years. In that time, he's shown himself to be an incredibly disciplined and hard-working individual and a gifted young pitcher. He arrives at every training session on time, prepared, and with a great attitude, ready to attack the day. Also, Ryan is intelligent, coachable, and has an obvious love and joy for baseball. His energy is contagious, and he's the type of player I'd want on any team.
