Personal

Line-drive gap-to-gap hitter with 90mph exit velo off the tee.
Explosive speed, a sure stolen base threat with a 4.60s 40yd dash.
Strong 93mph arm across the diamond with positional versatility.
Intelligent baseball instincts set me apart and allow me to run the infield.

Plus speed, instincts, and a 95mph arm give me versatility around the diamond.
I play a sound 3B and have experience playing for the Brisbane Bandits of the ABL in the outfield during exhibition games in 2021.
If needed, can throw 1-2 innings in relief and pound the zone.

I’m a super personable and supportive teammate who knows when to flip on/off the intensity switch. Currently working in the healthcare sector as a Physiotherapist allows me to provide treatment and rehabilitation advice to teammates.

Overseas Goals

I’ve always wanted to use baseball as a means of adventure. My university studies and career as a Physiotherapist have delayed my overseas baseball career, but now I’m ready to bring my talents to a supportive team in a competitive league!

I’m currently preparing for the upcoming 2023/24 ABL season with the Perth Heat.

Andy Kyle

Perth Heat, Manager

It’s been great to have Riley involved with the Perth Heat as one of our talented local players. He has come through our pathway programs as a junior and has really developed and matured as a ball player the last couple of seasons.
Riley has a great feel for the game, is a hardworking individual and takes pride in everything he does.
He is a versatile player with really solid bat to ball skills, plays good defense and is a great teammate. Any team would benefit from having him involved in their program.

Mark Pettit

Perth Heat, Assistant Coach

Riley is a versatile and talented ball player who would be an asset to any organisation he plays for. I have known Riley since 2016 when I first coached him at our Under 18 National Championships where he led the tournament in hitting. The other thing that stood out about Riley even at this early age was his work ethic. He continues to set an example in this area to all teammates and is one of the reasons why he makes such a positive contribution to any team he is a part of.

As an infielder, Riley is sure handed and again possesses wonderful leadership skills that allow him to communicate with his teammates. He reads the game well and makes the right decisions for the situations.
Riley continues to hit every level he plays at. He will move runners over when necessary and values every at bat which makes him a valuable member of any offensive line up. His ability to also drive in runs means he can hit anywhere in the line up. Riley also sets a standard in practicing and preparing right that makes him a valuable teammate and one who would lead the way for others. He does this in a way that draws teammates along with him. He is an asset to any organisation he plays for.

Nick Alexiou

Wembley Magpies, Manager

In the most sincerest way possible, Riley is a dude. I’ve been his teammate for the last 3 years and watching his growth from the first year to now has been remarkable.

He’s always been the type of guy to lead by example rather than letting his voice do the talking. But since I’ve taken a leadership role with the club 2 years ago, I’ve challenged him to take more responsibility for the way the club performs and all he’s done is answer the bell.

The first year I challenged him both on and off the field, he finished 2nd in the league in batting average (.424), OBP (.527), slugging (.799) and OPS (1.299).

After that season, he earned his way onto the professional roster for the Perth Heat and reached his goal of representing his hometown club.

Every year I ask for Riley’s goals, he always tries to push the envelope from the year before and that’s exactly the type of player you’re getting with him in your club: a dawg that’s going to push everyone to be better simply because he has the ability to raise his game to heights rarely seen.

He’s a physiotherapist by trade, keeps in amazing shape, runs like the wind, plays an athletic middle infield and his bat to ball contact is off the charts good.

If you’re looking for someone to come in and raise the profile of your club and lead by example, for both the seniors and juniors there, you can’t go wrong with Riley Spring on your roster.
