Personal

Rachel started playing softball at the age of six, and it has afforded her the opportunity to travel across the US and now overseas. Rachel played for two years at Iowa Western Community College (Division I Jr. College) in Council Bluffs, Iowa (USA) and currently holds many collegiate single season records there (team and individual) which include: longest winning streak (24), most pitching wins (37), most single season strike outs (343), complete games (42), innings pitched (314.2), appearances (53). In addition, Rachel was awarded Academic All-Region 2nd Team, and National Jr College All-American (3rd team).

After her Junior College career, she transferred to an NAIA School, Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. Under the great coaching of Jessica Jones-Sitzmann, we took our team to the NAIA World Series top 10 in the country for the first time in school history. While there, Rachel recorded a school record of 34 wins, and record winning percentage, and record team wins of 47 in single season. Also, was named NAIA All-American (2nd Team).

Currently, Rachel plays internationally with the Mt. Albert Ramblers in Auckland, New Zealand as a pitcher and hitter, and am coaching high school and primary students. The softball club provides a place to live and a currently has a car to use while in New Zealand. She hopes to continue to play international softball and would like to be afforded similar accommodations if possible. The club also arranged and paid for her round trip flight from the United States to New Zealand.

Rachel played for me for two years at Iowa Western Community College. Rachel is one of the best competitors I have ever had in the circle. Not only did she lead the nation in strikeouts her Sophomore year, she led her team with her fierce work ethic. She has great command of her pitches and works very well with her catchers. I have watched Rachel over the years develop into a great leader and a great teammate. Her knowledge of the game is second to none and she is always there to help younger athletes with their game. Rachel would be an asset to any organization.
