Personal
Good Day to everyone reading this ,
My name is Nicholas KyRose, and I am an international baseball player originally from Toronto, Canada. Baseball has been the longest continuous passion of my life and I have been blessed with a unique and amazing journey to get to where I am today, on and off the field. I have played in 6 different countries throughout my career and can’t wait to continue that journey next year.
This platform has provided me a chance to continue my baseball career when I felt it was stalling and I now have the confidence and drive to push further than I had thought possible before. In a weird way, my childhood dream of making it to the Majors has come full-circle as I have improved my on-field ability and performance, the visions of playing at the highest level possible come back just as they were all those years ago. ⚾
Here is a bit more about my backstory:
I have just turned 24 years old and am currently training at an elite athletics facility, Speed Mechanics, in Victoria, Canada. The trainers, without question, have been the best people I have worked with on my career and confidently feel I will be at my absolute best come springtime 2022.
I graduated high school at the age of 17 in 2015. Since that time, I have been to the USA twice to try out for Junior College teams at the D1 collegiate level, and more recently, I have lived in France, Switzerland, and Germany where I have played my last 3 seasons. Outside of baseball, I have studied at 3 institutions – 2 in California, USA being Yuba College and Ventura College where I began playing internationally, and the 3rd being l’Université de La Rochelle in La Rochelle, France where I began my overseas baseball career. While playing In La Rochelle, I obtained my C1 Level certification in December of 2019 in French, making mi bi-lingual. Furthermore, I have independently studied several languages (most notably Spanish), and being in Germany for the summer 2021 season, I plan on continuing to learn German as well as several others.
I am currently able to speak English 🇺🇸, French🇫🇷, and Spanish 🇪🇦fluently should a team be looking for someone that can communicate or help market the club in multiple languages and target markets.
Traveling around the world with my baseball career has opened my eyes to the rich possibilities that exist when you truly immerse yourself in a foreign culture and make it your own. I will continue at least until I can speak fluently in 7 languages to set myself up for a prosperous future both on and off the field of play.
When I did graduate high school in June of 2015, I was an under-sized, under-skilled player that needed to grow physically and mentally and that was proven to be true after being cut from the Yuba College 49ers in Marysville, California on my birthday – December 8th, 2015. That feeling of disappointment pushed me to go from 74 mph out of high school on my Fastball to 88mph and climbing, it pushed me to elevate into a solid 2-way player and not be limited by what past coaches wanted me to be (a Pitcher Only, to stop playing, etc). It pushes me to realize my development as a player and a man is 100% within my control and there is nothing I cannot achieve with the will to see it through to fruition.
In October of 2018, I participated in a tryout for the Tampa Bay Rays and the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of the NPB in Japan (Videos: DR Tryout #1, DR Tryout #2) while in the Dominican Republic and got positive feedback on what I needed to do to take my game to the next level. A few more MPH on my fastball and I could have a real professional career all over the world as a true professional. I would love for the next step of my development to be with a club that can help me achieve this professional dream of mine.
I was so grateful and blessed to have received the chance to play in 2020 after spending months in quarantine in France at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. I understood that many of my fellow players did not receive that privilege because of the COVID-19 pandemic and so I strived to make the most of it and put together my best overall season individually culminating in winning the Swiss NLA National Championship with the Therwil Flyers in September 2020. I am embarking on this next phase of my life with greater aspirations for my career than ever before and a fundamental belief in myself as a ballplayer. I am a believer in my development and a believer in creating my own destiny.
I have had many incredible experiences already thanks to my love for the game of baseball, and I can’t wait to make many, many more.
I look forward to hearing from you, and here’s to a prosperous 2022 and beyond.
Sinceramente,
Nicholas M. KyRose
