Personal

Matt is a competitor at the plate with power from the right side, and he consistently posts a high on-base percentage. During his senior collegiate season, his exit velocity ranged as high as 108 (mph).

He is primarily a catcher and third-baseman but his versatility allowed for coaches to move him around the infield throughout his college career.  His versatility would be a bonus for any club he plays for.

Matt describes himself as “a player that has always been willing to do anything to benefit the team.” As a collegian, Matt became very comfortable in his role as a utility player and team leader, and he quickly became a player that the coaching staff had confidence in when a game was on the line.

Since his season ended, he has been working out weekly to stay in top condition, as well as working at baseball clinics where he is able to work alongside youths to sharpen his own baseball skills.

Testimonials

Brady McKillip

Head Coach at Graceland University

Matt is a baseball player in every sense. He is committed to the craft of hitting, spends countless hours in the cage working at it. He was the center piece to our lineup everyday last year. Uses the whole field offensively with power. Defensively, he is a plus catcher with the ability to play the corner infield positions as well. Was even versatile enough to play 2B for us when our regular guy was down with an injury. For as good as he is at baseball, he is a better person. Matt took it upon himself as a senior to set up mentoring times during the week for freshmen that we had that were struggling to deal with college life. He would talk with them, help them organize their days or just tutor them in their classes. Matt is a first-class individual and baseball player. I wish I could bring him back here on a contract.

Brad Payne

Assistant Coach at Graceland University

Matt Reyes is an extremely hard worker. He would help his teammates out on/off the field. He also would ask questions when he would be working on hitting and fielding. He is very respectful of his teammates and coaches. His teammates also looked up to him as a leader. I would gladly coach Matt again.

Tyson Gillis

Co-Founder at Travail Baseball Training

It has been such a pleasure having Mathew Reyes work with us.

The kids training in our facility love him, and he displays such great character well past his youth.

Matthew is easily one of the harder working players we have training and would be contagious in a locker room.

A really stand up guy that’s loved by all!

ADDITIONAL TESTIMONIAL

Michael Crouse, Co-Founder at Travail Baseball Training – Playing professional baseball for the past 14 years has allowed me to meet many individuals.  Matt Reyes is a person that I regard as a true professional.  Solid communicator, punctual, excellent work ethic, aware, and CONSISTENT.  With these qualities mentioned mixed with the talent that he possesses on the field it’s no wonder why he can step into any clubhouse/work environment and not only excel but be a leader and bring up the people around him.

Matt Reyes also coaches for my company Travail Development which deals with the Development of youth here in Vancouver, BC.  We value him as one of our main instructors so much that we would like in the future for him to be a part of the team as we continue to grow.
To conclude, Matt Reyes is a gem of a ball player and human being and should be sought after by teams who are looking to sign players overseas.
