Personal

Matthew is a good contact hitter and an excellent bunter.  He has better-than-average speed, which is an asset on the bases and in the outfield.  He has a strong throwing arm and good accuracy.

Defensively, he has primarily been an outfielder for quite some time, but he is also effective at second base and shortstop.  In one collegiate summer league, he was voted Utility Player of the Year.

Matthew brings high energy to the diamond.  He is a lead-by-example type of player who supports his teammates and always has words of encouragement.

He has youth coaching experience as well, and would be interested in assisting a team’s coaching staff in any way necessary. He has a natural connection with kids, and has many drills he can incorporate into practices.

In the off-season, he continues to work out, throw with teammates and work in the batting cage, while also attending weekly practices.

*My teams in 2020, and 2021 haven’t compiled stats for the seasons.

Testimonials

Manager (Eau Claire Rivermen)
aniese@regiscatholicschools.com

I played amateur baseball with Matt Alley from 2017 to 2019 on the Eau Claire (WI) Rivermen. I can attest to Matt’s offensive skill set (plus bat to ball ability and running speed) as well his ability to effectively play defense at multiple positions.
If you need more info, please do not hesitate to contact me.
