Personal
Masafusa is a versatile player, with experience at first base, third base and the outfield. In addition, he can slot in as a catcher or relief pitcher, so he brings versatility to a club. He was a catcher through junior high school and also caught in the Japanese independent leagues. Defensively, he has good hands and a strong, accurate throwing arm.
At the plate, he has good power and also a good eye, with high on-base percentages. In two of his three seasons in the Japanese independent leagues he has had more walks than strikeouts.
Masafusa is a very supportive teammate who works very hard to be prepared for any situation that may arise. He is very dedicated to the game, committed to practice very hard and possessed of a strong desire to continually improve. He has good leadership skills and recently received an offer to coach a college baseball team. If an overseas opportunity were to arise, he would be interested in helping the club’s coaching staff.

"Samurai Spirit"
Kanroji is a hard-working ball player from Japan. I only got to know him for a month during the Japan Winter League but I have found immediately his eagerness and ambition to play a good level of baseball.
He hits for power and can damage when pitchers make mistakes. Also defensive wise as an outfielder he takes a good route to get to the ball and has a decent arm to get the runners out on bases. Despite his "goofy" look, he also has a good hand in the infield. He played mainly first base during the league but he made some difficult picks and also show some good range. He definitely has the ability to play corner infield.
As I mentioned, he is a hard worker and always keen to learn new things to improve his skills. And importantly he commits 100% to the team that he is going to play for. I just loved working with him during the time and want to see more of him playing overseas."
I played with Masafusa when I was in college. He is a hard worker and will definitely make a positive impact on the team.
Also, after I became a high school baseball coach, I often visited the practice and kindly instructed the high school students. From my point of view, he was a very good teacher and I was interested in him.
His strength as a player is his slugging ability. Being able to hit long hits in the right direction from the right at bat is evidence of a good hitter.
He will also have a positive impact on the team as he can protect both the infield and the outfield.
