I am a high average hitter who consistently produces quality at-bats and hard contact to all fields. I have developing power that allows me to drive gaps while still prioritizing on-base percentage and situational hitting. I bring above-average speed, which translates to baserunning value and strong range in the outfield. Defensively, I primarily play the outfield at the college level, while also being a solid infielder who provides versatility when needed.
My secondary position is second base, where I am extremely confident and experienced. I have good instincts, reliable hands, and solid range, allowing me to handle the position consistently at a high level. My experience there gives teams flexibility and confidence in moving me between the outfield and the infield as needed.
I lead by example and bring a calm, composed presence to the team. I stay steady in pressure situations and help keep teammates focused and confident. Kolbe is an elite contact hitter that we implement in the top of our lineup. His offensive approach is polished, utilizing his ability to hit the ball to all fields. He has great plate discipline, a low swing and miss rate, and plus ability to get on base. This past season he had an on-base percentage of .469 which led our team. In 97 plate appearances, his strikeout rate was 14%. He consistently hits the ball hard, in play, and is a constant base stealing threat. Defensively, he has changed positions from the middle infield to better exploit his speed in the outfield. In 2025 he played 172.2 innings in the outfield without making a single error. He could comfortably play the infield as a utility player.
Kolbe leads by example, adapts to the needs of the program for the betterment of the team. He has great baseball knowledge, is extremely coachable, and has a strong work ethic. In the past two seasons he has developed to be a leader for Edmonton Collegiate and has been relied on in big moments. He slows the game down and has a very calm and methodical approach in everything he does. He would make a great coach as his temperament is consistently positive and he naturally leads without effort. During his college career he implemented great time management skills and has excelled in his educational pursuit, graduating from the University of Alberta (Petroleum Engineering).
Kolbe is a exceptional contact hitter that is beginning to tap into his gap to gap power. He sprays the ball well to all fields, especially oppo while working counts and getting on base. Defensively, he is as reliable as it comes in the outfield. With solid range and a good glove he is consistently one of our top fielding outfielders. On the bases, he’s a smart baserunner that utilizes a combination of speed and baseball IQ to steal bags and always take the extra 90 feet. His calm demeanour and his quiet leadership in our locker room has gone a long way to help us build a successful team dynamic. Off the field he is as easy going and laid back as they come. Having spend 5+ seasons overseas myself I can confidently say Kolbe would be an asset to any club looking to add a top of the order bat who can play an excellent outfield.
