My baseball coaching experience is outlined below. My abilities as a baseball player were that of a utility player. I played and learned every position on the field. The knowledge gained through that process as well as my other years as an instructor and coach have given me the ability to be an established head coach.
Having the knowledge of the game and of what all players on the field should do is how I teach and what I expect from all of my players. The more knowledge on the field, the better the team and in turn the better the individual player.
My goal is to continue to teach a team approach to the game overseas.
From 1999 to 2005 I instructed snowboarding. From 2005 to 2010 I was a dry land trainer and swim coach at the high school level.

I have coached with Kevin Hays for the last 7 years at both the High School and Summer 18U Seattle area select level of baseball. Over that period of time I have come to know Kevin very well through both observation and communication. Kevin's baseball IQ has progressed not only with every season, but with each game he coaches. His strategic approach and game planning have evolved immensely, and I attribute this to Kevin knowing his players' strengths and areas to improve, thus putting them in the best position to succeed. Kevin is very dedicated to player development and always makes time to accommodate them in getting extra work where needed. Kevin's availability to help and passion to see his players improve and succeed is second to none. He has the innate ability to motivate his players to want to be better players and become better men off the field. We have several players now that have moved on to play college baseball. This is the ultimate fruit of his labor, to be able to watch them play at the next level and succeed in part using the tools they brought with them. Several of those players that have not moved on to play in college stay in contact with Kevin as a mentor and friend, which is the ultimate sign of respect and in my opinion, what Kevin has to be the most proud of from the time he spent with those young men.
Kevin is a amazing person and a fantastic coach. Kevin likes to play aggressive because he teaches the fundamentals of a very complex sport. Kev connects to his players, he cares about their growth as a player as well as a human being. He expects no less than 100% at all times. Kevin works very hard at teaching the fundamentals of how to play and read a ground ball.
