GENERAL

Kailyn is true 5-tool player and a major threat at the plate that can shoot the gaps, hit for power, hit for average, and also lay down a bunt. She has spent her entire career hitting in the top of the lineup, mainly in the 2, 3, or 4 spots because of her ability to get on base, bring in runs, and score. With her speed, she also puts pressure on the defense and can beat out infield hits. At a 6-foot frame, she has speed around the bases and can be a base stealing threat in any moment. Not only can she run, but she is a smart baserunner that will take extra bases. Sliding and diving are some of her specialities and she’s not afraid to layout whether it be on offense or defense.

She is an infielder who can excel at 1st base, 3rd base, and shortstop. She has an extremely strong arm with an overhand throw that has been clocked at a velocity of 70mph, which is one of her biggest advantages in playing on the left side. Kailyn is an aggressive, fearless player and strives to be the best that she can be, as well as build upon and grow from previous seasons. Her competitive spirit and years of experience play a huge role in her game.

COLLEGE

Kailyn Campbell was a four year starting 1B/DP at Central Washington University (NCAA Division II) in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC). In 2017, she shattered several school records and graduated as the schools all time leader in hits (292), stolen base percentage (.963), games played (198), games started (197), runs scored (170), doubles (64), RBI (197) and total bases (451). Her 197 career RBI and total bases (451) stand as the GNAC all-time records. She led her team to a GNAC Championship, a West Regional Championship, and to the NCAA Super Regionals as a junior.

In her senior year, Kailyn had a career year leading the GNAC in nearly every offensive category, highlighted by a .497 batting average with 26 doubles, 13 HR and 56 RBI. She also had 21 BB which contributed to her ridiculous .548 OBP. On the base paths she was also a threat swiping 16 bags. Her incredible season established her as one of the best players in the country and in the West Region. She was a Top 25 Finalist for NFCA Division II Player of the Year and earned several post season awards including Conference and Regional Player of the Year as well as two First Team All-Region accolades. On top of that, she earned All-American honors as well. Over her four year career, Kailyn made herself known in the league and hit a remarkable .427 with 31 home runs. Defensively, she posted a .983 fielding percentage in 198 games as an infielder.

INTERNATIONAL (4 SEASONS)

Kailyn first took her career overseas in 2018 to play for the Wr. Neustadt Crazy Chicklets in the Austrian Softball League and helped them reach the playoffs after a long drought. She made a statement as one of the leagues most feared hitters and a solid defender, finishing second in batting and earning the Third Base Gold Glove with a perfect fielding percentage. Austria became her home for the 2019 and 2021 summers once again where she led her team to the championship series and finished as a Silver Medalist in both years. In 2019, she established herself as one of the best players in the league once again; earning the Austrian Softball Bundesliga’s Best Batter and Third Base Gold Glove. In 2021, her efforts at the plate earned her a Silver Slugger award for 3rd base. She posted a .979 fielding percentage with only one error in 17 games.

For her fourth season and fifth seasons, Kailyn decided to take her game to Italy and join Bertazzoni Collecchio where she played 1B, 3B,  and SS, batting in the top of the lineup. She was atop her team in several offensive categories. The team finished fourth out of eleven teams in 2022 and qualified for the Coppa Italia. For the two Coppa Italia games played, she batted .500 with a home run, 3 RBI, and an OPS of 1.375. In 2023, she was a consistent threat in the lineup, leading the team once again.

During the 2022 European Winner’s Cup B, Kailyn joined Les Pharaons of Evry-Courcouronnes, France. She dominated the tournament and led the team to a Gold Medal. Playing 3rd base and shortstop, she posted a perfect fielding percentage as well as a slash line of .722/.773/1.333. At the end of the tournament, her name was atop the list in runs, hits, batting average, and OBP. Kailyn was picked up for the European Winner’s Cup B in 2023 as well, with her first international team, the Wr. Neustadt Crazy Chicklets. She led the team to a silver medal and posted a .545 batting average and a 1.386 OPS.

In the offseason, Kailyn works at an indoor baseball/softball facility where she serves as a softball instructor that does one on one and group lessons with young players. She is also an assistant coach for an 10U high level fastpitch team. In addition to coaching the youth, she trains and sharpens her game consistently. Health and fitness is one of her biggest passions and she’s able to keep her body in good condition year after year. Kailyn is available and willing to discuss possible opportunities with clubs for the upcoming 2024 winter and/or summer seasons.

Janessa Riley

Head Coach, Washington Hustle

I coached Kailyn from age 11 through 18, she was one of the most reliable hitters on our team year after year. She was the person that I wanted up with runners in scoring position, if I had to describe her in one word it would be clutch. Kailyn was a threat at the plate in many ways, she could hit for power, hit for average, drive in runs and even drop a perfect squeeze. Kailyn primarily played first base for me and was extremely dominant defensively. She could pick anything and I always knew that any throw near her was going to be an out. Additionally, she was a leader on and off the field. She always wanted to get better, working tirelessly at practice and outside of it. She has an incredible softball IQ and takes advantage of every opportunity in the game. Kailyn is one of the best all around athletes I have ever coached in my 20+ years. She never left a game with a clean uniform!

I had the pleasure to secure Kailyn for our 2018 and 2019 lineup. From the first day she has been an outstanding player with the character to match, helping to push our team to a new level. Her nickname - the tower of power - says it all. Also her instinct and her athletic skills on the field are one of a kind. Infield, outfield, hitting and baserunning - she can do it all. She is a fierce competitor, driven and hardworking. Besides that she is mentally tough and passionate about the game of softball. As a true team player she always tries to get better in whatever she does and is excited about the opportunity to help those around her to become better softball players. She is the most organized person I have met in the game. She has a plan for everything and with her passion for coaching she will be a great asset to any coaching staff. As a person she took our hearts by storm and she will do the same wherever she goes to play in the future. She makes friends easily, is honest, reliable and will be the best teammate you can find for your players. With her love for travel and to embrace new cultures and people she will be a real gem for every team on and off the field. Even above the many skills Kailyn has on the field, her great attitude stands out even more. It is a pleasure to watch her play but also to coach her. I give her my highest recommendation.

Former Head Coach, CWU

Kailyn Campbell can do it all! I was a head coach in the SEC for 6 years and she would have been an All-SEC player. She is very versatile in that she can play any infield position and also go on the grass and compete at a high level. Kailyn plays a high level of catch (70 mph overhand throw) and her glove is outstanding. She competes in the batter's box and has power to all fields. Her softball IQ is off the charts. She was my graduate assistant for a year at CWU. She is a student of the game and is always looking for ways to get better and continue to grow as a player and teammate. Great work ethic, character, and brings a love for the game to the ballpark everyday. She can play at the very highest level!!
