Justin Gil is a utility player that has played all infield positions and has a little experience in college also playing left field and catcher. Justin was primarily used at third base his last two seasons of college and in summer collegiate baseball he was also utilized as a pitcher.

In his sophomore year at Ohio Valley University (NCAA Division II), Justin was Redshirted due to poor grades. Not being allowed to play in competition sparked a new drive in Justin that continues today. He went from academic probation and suspension from playing baseball to the Dean’s List in three of his last four semesters at the school. In his senior year of college his .382 batting average, .442 OBP and 37 RBI were all second best on the team. Justin tied for the team lead in home runs with two.

During his time at Footscray Baseball Club in the Victorian Winter League (B Grade) Justin lead his team with a .571 batting average, 8 home runs, and 15 stolen bases during the 18 games season while primarily playing shortstop and catcher. He was also used occasionally as a relief pitcher. During the Victorian Winter Baseball Carnival , Justin earned team MVP honors and All-Tournament team honors while playing 3rd base.

He’s currently playing in the Victorian Summer League for Newport Baseball club, where he’s hitting lead-off and seeing time at LF, CF, 3rd base, and 1st base.

Justin is looking for a club for the summer of 2019 and the 2019-2020 winter and is open to all opportunities and possibilities.

Testimonials

Louis Cohen

Former teammate and International Player

Justin is a solid athlete, on the field having him really both surprised you and improves the moral and encourages everyone to up the ante. While watching him in the box you can see a desire to get the ball in play to make something happen. I believe he would be a huge help to any squad and a great guy to have around. Justin off the field manner is very laid back and fun to be around, much like glue in the way he bring people together.

"Justin played for me in the California winter league and diplayed he is a contact hitter with a solid college offensive background. He can play all INF positions well. I have no trouble recommending Justin for your program."

“Justin is just as great of a baseball player as he is a person. He clearly enjoys being around the game, watching him play one inning will show you that; he has one gear, it’s full throttle. I really enjoy watching him play, and enjoy being amungst what he brings to the field everyday. Each practice he shows his knowledge to young players around the club, it’s easy to see how much this dude enjoys being out at the yard. His play coincides with his demeanor, he’s balls to the wall, a dirtbag. Can play anywhere on the field comfortably, swipe bags, and takes hacks. This dude does not get cheated at the dish, gangster hacks for days. If that’s not enough, his dugout chatter is world class, copious amounts of energy (might not always understand what he’s saying, but I appreciate the fire!)
I’ve been an import for years, and this dude is what teams want.”
