Personal
Abilities summary: I have always been a strong leadoff hitter. I get on base a lot, drive the gaps, and hit home runs. Past few seasons overseas I’ve hit leadoff hitting over .350 with 1 to 2 homeruns. I get on base a lot, drag bunt occasionally and draw a lot of walks and hit by pitches. I get good jumps when stealing and always heads up on the bases. I have good speed really run hard on every play. Defensively my arm is as strong as it’s ever been. Can make a throw deep in the hole or across line to line from third base. I can play second really well too and turn quick. Love learning from other good hitters and sharing my knowledge as well.
I play to win. I live for embracing the battle with my teammates and also keeping things light and fun on and off the field. As a shortstop I’m smooth, turn quick double plays, and can definitely make the throw deep in the 6 hole. I can definitely play any position on the field because of my athleticism I have listed all that I have played since starting my overseas career.
I’ve worked hard on my pitching and will compete for my team to get that win on the mound. I throw a lot of 2 seam fastballs (79-82) changeups, curveball and have developed a slider. I will get outs and soft contact. I rely on mixing up my delivery and pitches. I am more of an athlete than I am a pitcher but I will compete hard and get outs. As a pitcher I will compete hard. I have had some success in Australia and New Zealand. In Europe as well but I have mostly been a middle relief guy. Would be willing to start like I have down under or even take on a closing role.
As a coach I really enjoy helping younger players learn and understand the game. My strength as a coach is building confidence in players. Making sure they understand how to make adjustments. It has been extremely fulfilling seeing players I’ve coached make great strides and gain a lot of confidence. I speak French well, especially baseball terms and can teach the game to players effectively who have minimal English skills
I play hard and am always having fun. I don’t define my teammates based on how they’re playing. Definitely like to discuss with anyone what works what can be tweaked with swing to be catching consistent barrels.
