Personal

John has power at the plate and has experience against quality competition.  His exit velocity ranges into the mid-90s.

He is a versatile defender, with significant experience at first base, third base and catcher.  In addition, he sometimes pitched in relief during his high school career, and he could slot in there if necessary.  He also played the corner outfield spots during his time in the Alaska Summer League.  He has good speed for his size and has good instincts defensively. As a catcher, he has a lot of experience working with pitchers on their mechanics.

John is a lead-by-example person who has a lot of energy and a positive outlook.  “I love to stay loose, but I know when it’s time to focus,” he says.  “I’m always willing to help teammates in any way I can to be the best players they can be. I love spending extra time hitting in the cages and enhancing chemistry with teammates.”

In addition, he has experience helping youth players with lessons in hitting, pitching, and fielding. He has also worked with players seeking recruitment to Division I schools on more advanced hitting and catching drills.
