Playing Experience

Jessica Martin is a Canadian middle infielder who has been part of some very successful collegiate softball programs, including the 2010 NAIA national champions Simon Fraser University and the 2011 & 2012 NCAA I Big East champions, Syracuse University. Jessica has also been part of a number of Canadian national championship teams throughout her career.

With Syracuse, Jessica did not see much playing time but gained a wealth of knowledge within the program which she has carried forward into a coaching career while continuing to grow as a player.  Now, the 27 year-old continues to compete with the Six Nations Orange, a team which consists of all First Nations players. Jessica, a First Native player herself, also coaches the Six Nations Orange U19 team, a team she has been coaching since they were U13.

“I am privileged to be part of their journey and now they are all working towards collegiate softball careers. This is the first time our community has had a team like this that is collectively striving towards college athletics and beyond. These girls help me to become a better player and person.”

Jessica describes herself as a left handed hitting power/slap hitter who is an aggressive middle infielder with a strong and accurate throw.

Jessica’s goal is to make the Canadian 2020 Olympic team and believes that playing overseas will help her achieve that goal. She is available from April 18th to end of August, 2018.
