About Me

I am a two-way player primarily serving as a closer and infielder. Velo: 83-86, T87; Contact hitter with pop and speed on the bases. I’m at my best role when I can help the team with my hitting and speed early in the game, then close out the game on the mound to end it.

Although pitching is what I have done at the highest level, I am talented to play almost any position on the field. I have played every position at a high level besides C and 1B. When not on the mound, my main secondary positions are 2B, SS, and 3B. I am never afraid to dive and do what I need to to make the play. I can play a serviceable OF as well.

Challenging myself is important, but I want to challenge my teammates, too. I’m going to be one of the first to pick up someone after a strikeout, tough outing, or error. I know my teammates are capable and I’m going to hold them to that — because that’s the way I’d want my teammates to hold me accountable.

With my knowledge of the technical and mental sides of the game, I’ll always give someone pointers to adjust their game — whether it be physically or mentally.

Career highlights

This season, I was the top pitcher in the West Texas Baseball League (an amateur league of former collegiate players and pros) with a 0.46 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, and 38 K’s across 19.66 IP. I was the team’s closer and, as the season progressed, leadoff hitter. I batted .333 (.903 OPS) with 1 HR. The home run came in an elimination game of a tournament — a walk-off 3-run homer.

In college, at Miami University Hamilton, I was the team’s closer my freshman year and pitched to a 1-2 record with 2 saves and a 3.12 ERA. I had 13 Ks over 14.66 IP. I was an Academic All-ORCC selection and a leader on the pitching staff. Dealing with injury as a sophomore, I stepped up to mentor the younger pitchers and be a team player in the dugout.

Coaching

I love coaching kids! I make sure my love of the game is passed on to them, along with the fun but informative instruction to ensure they have fun as they notice they’re getting better. I’ve learned to balance letting the kids have fun while making sure they learn the game’s rules and nuances so they succeed and enjoy their time on the field. With my pitchers, I built a staff and made sure they went into every game confident, ready, and sure of their abilities. Helping the young pitchers smile as they fixed their mistakes or made a big play was so rewarding.

Overseas Goals

Since leaving college, I’ve continued to train and push myself physically and mentally. This season, after a successful and healthy year playing in a high-level amateur league, I want to take my abilities to the next step of competition while exploring new cultures. I’m up for the challenge of high-level competition mixed with a new country, culture, and teammates.

***Remote Job Note***

I work remotely for a sports media company and intend on continuing that work while overseas. I will not need any part-time work while overseas, but I am seeking a club that is willing to accommodate someone dedicated to both the team and a career. My team in Texas trained during the week and played on weekends as well, and that fit my work schedule excellently, so a similar setup may be the most suitable.
