Fastball 83-86 top 89, Changeup 76-79, Curveball 70-72. Is a contact hitter with speed and athleticism.

Jeff is a primary pitcher that has logged over 120 collegiate innings at multiple levels of college baseball including junior college and Division 1. He has experience playing the field and would be interested in being a two way player. He was recruited by smaller colleges to play the infield/outfield but had better opportunities to pitch. Hit .352 sophomore year of high school and finished his high school career with a batting average above .300. Has experience playing SS/2B and outfield in high school. Is a very versatile player and a great athlete.

He is a big energy guy. He has been a leader and captain on multiple teams and has experience being a vocal leader. Elected team captain for 2025 season at D1 Presbyterian College.

Out of high school he attended a Post Graduate Baseball Academy called Scoutz USA in Augusta, Georgia for the next year. He then attended the University of South Carolina at Lancaster where he was a weekend starter both years and led them to a region runner up finish while leading the pitching staff in innings his sophomore year. He then went on to play Division 1 baseball at Presbyterian College and threw 21 innings his junior year and was a valuable part of their bullpen in 2024 on the road to their first and only Big South Regular Season Championship.

Career highlights

Member of first ever Presbyterian College Regular Season Big South Championship team in 2024. Closed out two of the conference wins from championship team. Scoreless outings against nationally ranked University of Georgia and the University of South Carolina. 120+ collegiate innings at the junior college and D1 level with senior season still to go. Sophomore junior college season included 64 innings with a 3.48 ERA. Varsity MVP Sophomore year in high school. Team Captain senior year in high school.

Overseas Goals

I want to travel and experience new parts of the world. I still feel like I have more talent left in me on the baseball field and would love to keep playing.

Head Baseball Coach, Hilton Head Island High School

When I think of Jeff Hays I immediately think of the word perseverance.

I had the privilege to coach Jeff through his HS career and have remained close with him after he headed off to college ball. Jeff suffered a pretty devastating arm injury that put not only his pitching career but his entire baseball career in jeopardy. He met this hurdle with optimism, positivity, and a perseverance that just shows how special of a person Jeff really is.

He came through surgery, rehab, and went on to create through hard work a successful college career. I know he values every time he gets to step on the baseball field for practice, scrimmages, and games. He loves the process and overall, he LOVES the game of baseball.

Jeff is the perfect example for youth players that have the dream of playing college ball that no matter what obstacle is thrown in your way. If you are willing to work hard, be coachable, and persevere through adversity you can achieve your goals.

Jeff is a special young man and I could not be prouder to know him. Any organization he is a part of will benefit from his baseball ability and will also benefit and be better off because of his high character.
