Personal

Jeff is a good contact hitter with good speed that enables him to take extra bases and makes him a base-stealing threat.   His exit velocity has been clocked as high as the low-100s (mph).

Defensively, he can play all three outfield positions, and he was a pitcher in high school, so he can step in as a reliever, should a club need him there.   He has a strong throwing arm, with velocity averaging in the mid-90s (mph) on throws from the outfield.  His speed also enables him to cover a lot of ground and get to balls some others would not.

Jeff is an energetic player and is very supportive of teammates.  He brings a competitive edge to a club and is always putting in the extra work necessary to continually improve.

In addition, he has youth coaching experience and would be interested in helping a team’s coaching staff.

Nick Puccio

Assistant Coach at Northeastern University

Jeff is everything that represents a northeastern baseball player. He was a tough hard-nosed competitor that did everything we asked in his time with us. Jeff brought his football mentality with him on to the baseball field on a daily basis. I have never questioned his commitment or toughness in our program.

From a baseball standpoint just was a lead off type guy for us for 4 years. Very good runner who is always a threat to seal a base. He is an aggressive hitter who has been able to channel his approach has he has developed and matured as a hitter.

Jeff Costello is a terrific teammate, has great work ethic, and will add tremendous value to any organization.

He is a talented athlete, and plays the game with respect, humility, and gratitude.

Mike Glavine

Head Coach at Northeastern University

Jeff is a tough, hard nosed ball player. He is a grinder and a winner. During his time at Northeastern he played hard, played hurt and was a winner. He was a member of 2 regional teams and a conference championship team. He was a 2 time all conference 2nd team selection. As a player he has above average speed along with an above average arm and a plus defender. Jeff can play all 3 outfield positions and although he did not pitch for us in the spring he can touch 90 on the mound and has a good slider. Offensively Jeff has gap power, can get a bunt down and steal bases. Jeff was a clutch performer and someone we wanted up late in the game. Jeff could do it all for us on the field and was a leader in our clubhouse. I truly believe Jeff can be asset to an organization and community.
