Jared is an outstanding catcher with an excellent arm and a quick release on his throws. He does a great job of receiving and framing pitches, as well as being a very good blocker. He understands pitchers and how to call the game. I always allowed him to call the pitches on his own. He is the complete package as a catcher.

He is a switch hitter who can hit for average with occasional power. He understands situational hitting and is willing to do what the team needs done. He is not a guy up to bat just trying to hit home runs, he is more concerned with winning the game.

As a young man he is at the top of the list when you judge character. He is very dedicated to being a great player. In high school, he would often show up early to practice working on his skills. He does a great job of leading by example as well as being able to talk to his teammates. As a senior in high school, he was an All-State selection, and he led our team to the state tournament with the best record in the state that year.

My name is Michael Moore and I am the Owner of the Baldwin City Blues and the Commissioner of the Mid Plains League; a summer wood bat collegiate league based in Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas. We have been in existence since 2013 when myself and 4 like-minded Coaches drafted Articles of Incorporation to establish the League. I believe I am accurate in stating that the Mid Plains League has become a premier “go to” destination for the finest collegiate Baseball Players in the Midwest. To date over 40 Players have either been drafted or signed professional baseball contracts.
Jared Fry is a young man that we recruited to play for us in Baldwin City. He was well known in the area as not only a highly skilled Baseball Player but as a young man of high character, dedication and leadership. His abilities on and off the field resulted in his being named the Conner Taylor Award Winner given annually to the player who best exemplifies the characteristics of former Blues Player, Conner Taylor. Character traits include; Leadership, Support, Empathy, Honesty and Integrity. When combined with his baseball prowess, choosing Jared for the Conner Taylor Award was an easy decision for the Blues.
In June 2021 Jared signed a professional baseball contract with the Monterrey Amberjacks of the Pecos League. He has performed extremely well, becoming one of the premier players in the league and hitting homeruns to “walk off” 3 close games.
Jared Fry is not only an outstanding athlete he is a young man who possesses an awareness of those around him and considers the impact his decisions have on others. He is the type of young man who would immediately add to the legitimacy of any league he played in. As a result I feel absolutely confident in recommending Jared for inclusion in your Baseball Organization.
