Personal

I throw a 2 seam fastball, sitting 88-92. A gyro slider, sitting 80-82, and a changeup that sits 81-82.

Over the last three years of college baseball I have been predominantly a starting pitcher, but I have come out of the pen when my team needs me

I bring a lot of energy, I love to win, and I work really hard. Baseball is a game of small details, and I know that to get better I have to pay attention and work on them everyday. I am mostly a vocal leader, as well as a leader by example because of my work ethic.

Career highlights

  • Male Athlete of the year in 2021.
  • Horizon League Pitcher of the week – received a win against Michigan, then proceeded to throw 7.3 scoreless innings my next outing.

Overseas Goals

Playing ball overseas will give me the chance to keep playing the game I love, as well as being able to travel and see the world. I feel that I have not reached my full potential, so being able to play would allow me to continue the grind to get to where I think I can go.

Jacob is a high character individual who did everything that was asked of him by me in junior college. The program was at a point where we needed solid individuals who wanted to change the culture when Jacob arrived. He took a starting spot and won some important games for us, but more importantly he helped set the tone for what we needed off the field. COVID prevented me from being able to watch the completion of his Sophomore year with us and he committed to IPFW, which was a big accomplishment having no Division 1 looks out of high school. He transformed his body, gaining weight and strength in the weight room, and became a legitimate prospect due to his work ethic. I believe Jacob’s best baseball is still in front of him. I am hopeful he gets a chance at the next level and any team who would take him will not be disappointed with his work ethic.
