Personal
I am very valuable as a contact hitter. I have quick hands and good pitch recognition, which makes me very difficult to strike out. I take pride in my ability to hit all pitch types in all locations. My level swing does not yield many homeruns, however, I can drive the ball from gap to gap with authority for extra-base hits and have had my exit velocity clocked as high as 93 miles per hour off a tee. I consider myself to have average speed but I am a smart baserunner and can read pitchers very well to get favorable jumps on stolen base attempts.
As a fielder I am very sure-handed and make few fielding errors. My infield velocity has been clocked as high as 87 miles per hour. My most important skill as an infielder is my ability to get rid of the ball very quickly while still making accurate throws, this gives me the ability to easily throw out faster runners without being rushed into a bad throw. It also allows me more freedom to pick favorable hops, knowing that It will take me very little time to make a throw.
I have plenty of experience at each of my secondary positions. I have actually played more innings at shortstop in my life compared to second base however at the professional level, I believe that I would project better as a 2nd baseman. I have played at least a full season at shortstop, 2nd base and 3rd base for various teams.
My best attribute as a teammate is my ability to stay level-headed throughout the highs and lows of a game or a season. I will be able to help keep myself and others on track to focus on the team’s long-term goal of winning a championship, and players’ goals of becoming the best possible versions of themselves.
