Following a four year high school career at RUHS in Vermont, I have pitched for two division III college programs, Wells College in New York and Pine Manor College in Boston MA. I have also played collegiate summer ball for the Wellsville Nitros (NYCBL New York), Northwest Honkers (PIL Seattle Washington), and Old Orchard Beach Windjammers (GNCBL, Maine.) I have thrown roughly 150 combined innings throughout my three college spring and summer seasons.

I battled through some early collegiate struggles. Dropping my arm angle was a difficult process and something I’m eager to help coach in the future.  I have become a reliable sidearm pitcher who pounds the strike zone. College baseball has taught me much about my personal pitcher identity. Over the last four years, I’ve learned what I need in order to be successful on the mound. I have improved with every season and have no doubt this trend will continue.

I received a NEAC Scholar Athlete award in both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. I then received the Pine Manor College Athletic Sportsmanship award following the 2018-19 season.

I throw my three pitch arsenal knuckleball, sinker, and slider all for strikes and will pitch whenever instructed to. I am eager to continue pitching, coaching, and being around the game I love anywhere in the world.

Video Highlights

Mike Czok

Head Baseball Coach, Randolph Union High School

I had Garrett as a player at Randolph Union and have seen him play at his present school, Pine Manor. He is a pitcher. A classic “junk baller” however a baseball guy through and through. If you are looking for character, work ethic and baseball knowledge this is someone you want in your program. His enthusiasm for the game will rub off on anyone who loves baseball.

Head Baseball Coach, Pine Manor College

David Valesente

Head Baseball Coach, Ithaca College

Garrett Gagnon had been a participating member in our baseball program at Wells College and during that time had demonstrated unparalleled loyalty and extra ordinary character.

Garretts participation in baseball at Wells College provided an opportunity for daily contact on and off the diamond. He has continually impressed our staff with a maturity level that exceeds most college students of similar age. He works well with peers and personally demonstrates warmth, dependability, diligence, and especially integrity. Indeed, one would be hard-pressed to find a team member who did not respond favorably to Garrett; especially his professors who have observed his stellar work ethic produce successful academic results.

A motivated young man, Garrett’s contributions definitely enhanced the baseball program. Although he possesses many great qualities, his outgoing personality and willingness to help are major selling points. He was a pleasure to coach and displayed remarkable respect. His public presentation is impressive and his poise under pressure is an admirable trait.

I recommend Garrett without the slightest reservation.
