Personal

I’m a balanced hitter with gap-to-gap power, developing into a power hitter as I grow stronger. I hit 3 home runs last season in the last 8 games I played, and I was among the Bundesliga leaders in RBIs with 22.

I’m an aggressive but intelligent middle-of-the-lineup type of hitter, I don’t strikeout often due to my 2 strike approach of just trying to put the bat on the ball. Regardless of all my hitting abilities, I’m always about helping the team win. I’m the type of hitter who can execute any small baseball play such as bunting, hit and run, sacrifice fly, and just hitting the ball the other way when the team needs it.

In the outfield I have great range due to my great reading of the ball and positioning, I usually watch the other team’s BP so I get somewhat of an idea about the hitters, I also have a very strong and accurate arm from any side of the outfield.

I started playing first base last year and did great, I’m that typical tall first baseman who is both flexible and athletic and can make any scoop play. I’ll always keep the ball in front of me no matter what.

As for pitching, I haven’t really tapped into it since 2019 but I used to come in relief for 1 inning or 2, so if the team needs my arm, I’ll deliver.

I can cover centerfield like a primary position, I used to pitch but haven’t really tapped into it, but if the team needs it I’ll get ready for it. I also played in my younger years at shortstop and catcher but haven’t really been there for a long time.

I’m the type of teammate that likes to connect with every single guy on the team and create something more than just teammates, but brotherhood. I always love to help everyone and share thoughts or knowledge, I’m a leader on the field, always keeping the right mood, doing things right and motivating my guys to get the best out of them. I love to win and you’ll never see me at the field not giving 100% and more to do so. I’m also always open to listening to everyone’s thoughts and opinions about me, if I’m doing something wrong in the batters box or something I can’t see. I always treat my teammates with respect no matter who or what they are, I’m not a cocky guy or anything, I’m the guy who gets along with everyone and always wants to bring the best out of myself for the team.

Career highlights

When I started with the Flamingos in 2019 I was a key part in helping the team win the league and advancing to first Bundesliga even though I was pretty young at that time.

Before that I was in Venezuela in the future stars baseball academy.

I had dedicated my life to baseball since I was 13 and was practicing everyday from 7am till 12pm, then moving to Germany I thought my baseball career was over but I was very wrong. I had the opportunity to meet my fellow teammate and brother Maikel Azcuy, former Great Britain national player in the 2017 WBC, and he introduced me to the Flamingos where I met coach Don Freeman, who helped me understand a lot about the psychological aspects of the game which has been since then my greatest approach to the game. I then played for 2 season with the Flamingos and I went back home to get a scholarship. After a year of hard work a 80% scholarship to play for a D1 university in Florida was offered to me, but my visa got denied 3 times.

At that point I thought it was over with baseball on a professional level, I went back to Berlin in 2022 and played there but wasn’t really at my best. I had lost that drive for baseball and wasn’t really putting the work as before, but this year something changed and I started thinking about the endless opportunities baseball could offer me around Europe or around the world, so I started putting the work back in and 2023 was my best year by far in baseball. I became a leader in the team and a voice for people to follow, I put up great numbers at the plate and played solid defense, we started the year great even defeating the 2022 reigning champs the Bonn capitals, but then we started going down. We put up a fight till the last game of the season as we beat Cologne 4-3 in the series to stay in the 1st Bundesliga. Now due to some financial problems the team will go down, that’s why I want to take this opportunity to go out and explore what more that baseball can give to me.

Coaching

I haven’t really coached but I have always been able to help the younger kids every time I can. I love interacting with the youth as they still have so much to learn, I know it myself once being there, so I have followed the example of my teammates to set an example and help the younger generation.

Overseas Goals

I love baseball, I want lo play as long as I can. I am still that kid with a dream of making a living out of baseball, so I’m still gonna put the hustle and effort to be the best of myself.

My last game played was in September of 2023, since then I have been working hard at the gym like never before and I started taking care of my diet.  This will only result in a positive outcome at the baseball field, so I’m working very hard day-to-day to become my best.
