I was a catcher until my second year of college. I played in the British League as a the starting catcher in five national championships. I also played on the U16-U23 British National team as a catcher and infielder, starting every game in European championships. My first year of college I played catcher and hit .400 but then made the transition to pitching. I am comfortable playing catcher and infield but pitching is my primary position.

Playing baseball on a college team has taught me how to be a great teammate, I became part of something bigger than myself and I know that a team needs cohesion. I have had a lot of teammates in my life and they would say that I am a guy that they want on the field with them. I encourage my teammates and give them the confidence they need to play well and succeed, when a guy is down I’m the first to pick them up and when a guy has makes a great play or hits a bomb I’m the first hype them up and tell them well done. When it is time for me to play I compete and lead by example, I like to play with quiet confidence (you won’t see me pounding my chest after I strike a guy out) but I play with passion and get excited with my teammates.

Reading the vibe of the game is something I am good at, whether we need to hype the guys up by shot-gunning a red bull or tell a joke to ease the tension I am there to do it. My experience has given me the good fortune of learning from some great players that played at high levels. I have knowledge about the game to share: I can read pitchers and hitters well and when I see a tendency to capitalize on I make sure the team knows about it, I have a lot of experience as a relief pitcher so I know how to manage routines to be ready to go into the game at any point and make sure my teammates can too. I have also trained a lot at Driveline baseball and know a lot about pitching mechanics and baseball specific training.

Coaching

I am not looking for head coaching positions overseas, however I know part of the role of an import player is to coach youth teams. Having coached youth teams in the past I am excited for the challenge and I can bring energy and expertise to improve and inspire youth players. I know how to organize an efficient practice that is fun.

Overseas Goals

Baseball is my true passion and I want to continue to play after college because I have a lot left to give to the game. I believe this opportunity will allow me to continue playing the game that I love in new and exciting environments. These new experiences will help grow as a baseball player and as a person. I have also studied Italian and German while in college and I would like to use my these skills and learn new cultures while meeting new people through baseball.

Great Britain baseball, Head Coach

Freddy Mosier will bring a lot to any team he is a part of. He’s a strong pitcher, who we used in high leverage situations at the last European Championship and has been a key part of major wins for the London Mets, as well as at Middlebury College. He’s also a great human being and a solid teammate. I’ve never had a player in all my years of coaching that was as well liked by all of his teammates as Fred is. He’s humble, kind, generous, thoughtful and incredibly hard-working.
