Summarize any career highs, achievements, recognitions, awards
The greatest team accomplishment came last summer when our team struggled all season. We managed to make it into the playoffs and we fought and grinded every step of the way. We eventually won the league championship as the lowest-ranked team. This accomplishment reminds me that playing the game hard and the right way will lead to great things.
My most memorable individual accomplishment was my senior year of high school when I set school records in all major offensive categories. I led the state of Pennsylvania in extra-base hits and I also ranked 2nd in the state in RBI’s (38), 3rd in the state in slugging percentage (1.027), 13th in the state in home runs (4), 12th in the state in runs (32), 21st in the state in batting average (.514), 74th in the state in On Base Percentage (.588). Describe yourself as a teammate
The team always comes first. I will play whatever position/situation is deemed most beneficial for the team. I love baseball and bring my passion to the field every day. I believe in leaving my all out on the field every single day giving maximum effort and bringing a positive and winning attitude to the dugout. I am the guy who will take extra reps before and after practice. I love training with my teammates and growing together to become better ballplayers and men.
Explain your experience and abilities at your secondary positions
Growing up I was the shortstop on every team I played on. I am very comfortable at any position in the infield, especially second base. I am able to make the plays at all positions as well as throw the ball hard across the diamond. As a pitcher I was used mainly as a closer with spot starts scattered in. I excel when the game is on the line and in high-stress situations by remaining calm and trusting my team to make the plays.
If you have not competed recently, explain what you have been doing to stay sharp and in shape
I have used the knowledge I have gained in college as a biology major and my passion for fitness to create an elite training program to get me ready for this upcoming season. This offseason I have taken my conditioning training to the next level. This consists of running, sprinting, hiking, rucking, swimming. Strength training has been difficult with the pandemic due to gym closures so I have been creating my own workouts lifting objects around my house, farmers-carries down my street, and squats with my little brothers on my shoulders. I will do anything to get the work in and get the job done.
Why do you want to take your career overseas?
I aspire to continue playing the game I love while traveling the world. I would like to spread the knowledge that I have about the game of baseball with people from all over the world while establishing connections that will last a lifetime.
Overseas goals:
- Extend my baseball career
- Use overseas as a stepping stone into a professional league in the U.S.
- Experience new cultures and meet new people
- Use my knowledge and experience to help grow the game globally
- Stay active during the offseason in a winter league
- Gain coaching experience
