Personal

I started all four years of my college career. As a freshman I started at third base, hit fifth, earned freshman of the year honors and finished second in home runs. My sophomore season I hit third, led my team in home runs and RBI’s and was nominated athlete of the year. The summer of 2017 I played for the Outer Banks Daredevils, earned team MVP honors and was selected to play in the All-Star game. My junior season I played third again, batted fourth, and led my team in home runs and RBI’s. The summer of 2018 I played for the Hurricanes in the MACL and led the league in home runs.

My senior season I transferred to Piedmont International University to play with the coach I had played for the summer of 2018. While there I started every game at short-stop, hit third, and earned defensive player of the year honors. The summer of 2019 following my senior year I played in the Puerto Rico Collegiate League. While there I started at short-stop, hit lead off, pitched, and in one game threw a one-hitter.

I am a very hard working player, very athletic, energetic, determined to win, always looking to improve and can play any position on the diamond. While I only played in-field in college, I have the capability of moving to the outfield if needed. My pitching was not used while in college, but developed in the summer following my senior year and has become a strong asset of mine. My power at the plate, strong defensive skills, and unbreakable mental game, combined with my strong arm I believe I can be an immediate asset to a team.

Abilities summary: A strong arm from across the diamond, and can throw upper 80’s to low 90’s off the mound. I have a fastball, change-up, 2-seam, and a curve while pitching. I have great range at short-stop, and quick reaction time at third. I have plus power at the plate, and can hit for average. I run a 7.0 60, and have good footwork on the infield. This summer I led the Puerto Rican Collegiate League with a 0.50 ERA.

Danny Acosta

Hurricanes, Head Coach

He has all the tools to be a professional ballplayer, good running speed, soft hands on the infield with great range to both sides, plus arm strength. At the plate, he shows a lot of power, quick strong swing, can hit gap to gap. Eli needs to be more aggressive at the plate to be more successful offensively. He also demonstrates great pitch-ability his fastball eye ball was 91 plus, great command of his secondaries CB, SLD needs to work on a CHG. I would sign him anytime, bring a lot of leadership to the dugout.

Eli is an outstanding young man whom I thoroughly enjoyed coaching. He played varsity baseball for me from 2013-2015. Eli was probably the hardest working player I ever had in my 14 years of coaching varsity baseball. As a Freshman, I met with him after the season and told him he had the raw skills to be very good, but need to work on strength and speed. Eli dedicated himself and was relentless in the weightroom. He transformed his body and became a force on the field. Eli was extremely coachable and became a quiet leader of our 2015 which made a run into the state playoffs. I highly recommend Eli to you and am glad to see him interested in continuing his baseball endeavors.

I have known Eli since January 2017 when I had the opportunity to work with him. As a professional in the mental game coaching field for over 20 years, along with experience in professional baseball and a coach at the high school and college levels, I come across many different personality types and mindsets. Eli is one of the finest young men of character, integrity, and faith I have had the privilege to know and work with. His work ethic is unmatched! His love of the game, desire to be the best, and willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve his dreams is oh the highest standard. He can be a significant contributor to a team as a middle infielder, outfielder, pitcher, and leader. His offensive skills are very solid, and will significantly improve as he gets a higher volume of opportunities at the plate. I highly recommend Eli to any team or organization that has a need for a multi-tool, multi-dimensional, and capable ballplayer that can be an immediate asset to any team roster.
