Donnie was a pitcher turned catcher that became the best in the league. During and after practice he worked non stop on his framing and blocking which is why he is so good now. Along with his receiving he has great knowledge for the game, a true field general to have in the game. Donnie at the plate knew how to choose his pitch, never unbalanced, and always put the ball in play. Pitching wise he was the hardest throwing in the league topping out at 91 at the time, paired with his slider and splitter made him a 7th-9th inning game winner. His commitment to his mechanics and teaching others on the team was something I haven't seen before in players I've coached. He was the life of the team and pulled us through some tough spots throughout the season. One of the nicest kids I have met and very baseball savvy which is why I have him coaching with me at the college this season. Any team getting him will be lucky to get his talent.
