Personal

Dan is a very well-rounded player who is solid defensively and is a threat at the plate.

Defensively, he has primarily been a third baseman, but he played a lot at second base during his first professional season (2023) and displayed a steady game with a good arm and the ability to turn the double play.  He also filled in at shortstop, so he offers versatility to a club.

At the plate, Dan has good bat-to-ball skills and consistently good on-base percentages.  In 2023, he posted a very high .469 on-base percentage and walked 28 times against just 15 strikeouts.  Also, his OPB figures in his final two collegiate seasons were well in excess of .400.

He is the type who consistently brings positive energy to a club, both in the clubhouse and on the field. He is an extremely hard worker with a team-first attitude.  He regularly puts in time on a strength and conditioning program designed by professional trainers and continues to practice hitting and see live pitching at a baseball facility, where he trains with professional players and top college prospects.

Michael Guy

Wilkes University Head Coach

Dan Crossan was a fine young man when he played for us at University of Scranton. He was always working on his game and it showed throughout his career. He was a clutch hitter for us in big spots and made a significant impact during his career. He led the team or was top 3 in the team in numerous offensive categories. Dan's best defensive position was 3b with the ability to play 2b as well. He has a sincere passion for the game & loves to compete.

Alfonso Reda

Scranton University Assistant Coach

Daniel is passionate about the game of baseball. I had the opportunity to coach him at the University of Scranton. I've played professional baseball both Internationally and in the States, I know the type of players that will last in Indy ball and Dan has that mindset. Most players that are in this situation need a grinder mentality, talent aside, Dan has the mentality.

From a talent perspective, Dan has a very high baseball IQ. He is very disciplined at the plate and can bat anywhere in a lineup.

Austin Fitzpatrick

San Rafael Pacifics Manager

Dan was a big contributor during our 2023 championship season and I’d love to give you a review about him.

Dan Crossan is defined by his work ethic, positive attitude, and love for the game. He’s a versatile infielder with a passion for learning and developing within the game of baseball. He is an asset both on the field and in the clubhouse. A guy who leads by example and brings the best out of his teammates around him. Dan is a winner.
