Personal

Cole is a lefthanded pitcher with a fastball that is consistently in the high-80s (mph) and has reached the low 90s.  He says his Rapsodo reports show that his fastball has an average spin rate of 2,400 with more than 20 inches of vertical break.  He also features a slider and change-up that average in the high-70s to low-80s (mph).  He also sometimes throws with a submarine motion.

He has both started and relieved during his collegiate career, so he offers some versatility.  He says, “I’m aware of the type of mentality and preparation necessary for each role.”

Cole is a very good athlete.  He reports having a 10.5-foot broad jump and a 36-inch vertical leap, and he has good speed.

He is a hard worker and persistent, having battled through significant injuries (Tommy John surgery and a broken elbow) early in his college career.

Cole also has experience coaching at several youth camps.
