I was privileged to play the highest level of college baseball at Gardner-Webb University. My first two years at Gardner-Webb I accepted the role of pinch-runner and defensive replacement, contributing to the team as best I could and working to get better. My junior and senior year I was fortunate enough to start in center field and step into a leadership position. While at Gardner-Webb I earned All Big South Conference honors my junior year hitting .322 with 20 stolen bases and 8 home-runs. My senior year I received the coaches award for best teammate and team leader. During my time at Gardner-Webb I was apart of teams that posted big wins against ACC and SEC opponents including Wake Forest, Clemson, North Carolina, and South Carolina. I was also apart of the 2016 team that broke the school record for wins (37). During the 2017 summer I was voted to the all star team of the Summer Collegiate Baseball League and in high school I was named MVP of the North/South All star games.

I believe the above statistics and accolades are important to mention in order to prove myself, but what I bring to the table that I am most proud of happen off the field and can’t be seen in the stat column. Baseball has taught me about standards and being a part of a team. I have learned to love consistency, discipline, and self-accountability in terms of the weight room, practice habits, school work, and how I treat those around me. I believe that how you do anything is how you do everything, so I strive to be the best and hold myself and those around me to the highest standards.

Lastly, I am a competitor. I believe playing baseball overseas is the next opportunity to challenge myself and to continue developing as a player and a person. I am really looking forward to this opportunity! Thank you!

Abilities summary: Speed (6.22 best 60 yard dash time). Solid play defensively with a strong accurate arm. Plate discipline. Ability to hit for average and power. Will lay down a bunt for a hit to either side or as a sacrifice. Good teammate.

Chris Clary is one of the finest young men I have ever coached. He has impeccable character and has always been highly respected by his teammates and those who have coached him. He is a disciplined, relentless worker who is always willing to push himself to get better each day. His baseball abilities are exceptional. He is one of the fastest and best defensive CF I have ever coached. He is a strong hitter whose speed makes him a constant offensive weapon for any team. He hits with power at times and has lots of pop in his bat. He has a great feel for the game and is extremely knowledgeable about the game.

Matthew Frederick

Chris is the definition of a consistent worker. During my time as his strength coach at Gardner-Webb I can’t remember a day he came in without a great attitude and a high level of detail to everything he was asked to do. He constantly showed himself as a great teammate, which was recognized by both his coaches and his peers. On top of his high level character, Chris is a very talented athlete with premier ability and play as a centerfielder. He has elite speed and range with a very good arm to add to that arsenal. Overall, Chris will be a great addition to any team or company he has an opportunity to work with as he is very intelligent, hardworking, and a great teammate.
