Personal

In 2020 Carson was set to play in Switzerland with the Therwil Flyers but the pandemic put an end to those plans.  Carson continued to pitch in a men’s league in Austin for the 2020 summer and fall with a focus on lengthening out as a starter. He was pitching 6 inning starts when the season ended.
Carson on why he decided to take his career overseas:
“Baseball overseas interests me for a number of reasons. Ever since I heard about it I thought that would be a great way to travel and see the world. Recently it became more than a cool idea because I want to become a starting pitcher. There are more opportunities for pitchers that have the capability to be a starter. I knew  here in the States I would only be given a shot as a reliever. I really enjoy being a bullpen pitcher but being a starter also affords more opportunity to work on my craft instead of my habit of being max effort every pitch. Instead, as a pitcher you are forced to pitch more efficiently in both tactics and mechanics. There are a few things developmentally I want to work on that seem to be easier to do internationally.”
Pitch Arsenal:
  • Fastball
  • Slider
  • Curveball
  • Change up
As a reliever, Carson had a fastball range 91-97mph. He is yet to be clocked as a starting pitcher.
Overseas goals:
  • Use overseas as a stepping stone into professional ball in the U.S.
  • Experience new cultures and meet new people
  • Stay active during the offseason in a winter league
  • Gain experience as a starting pitcher

Flint Wallace

Colorado Rockies, Pitching Coordinator

I have know Carson for several years now. He is the epitome of a person with a growth mindset. He is always seeking out knowledge on how to perform at a higher level, but more importantly, he is also seeking out ways to apply that knowledge into an individual’s training routine. His integrity, work ethic and dedication will make him a valuable resource to any organization, and for the athletes he works with.

Tom O'Connell

International Sports Group Baseball, President

Carson is a man of high character who has studied the science of pitching in great depth in order to perfect his craft. Not only would he be able to add a professional arm to any international baseball staff, his knowledge of the game would make him a worthwhile addition to any club's coaching staff.

Jordan Harrison

Atlanta Braves, AAA Pitcher

Carson is a high character person that never takes shortcuts and he always does things the right way. He brings a positive attitude to everything he does and his work ethic is second to none. I have never played with anyone who has studied the art of pitching more than Carson! He is a great teammate and locker room guy. On the field, he is a bulldog on the mound and brings a high intensity every time he pitches. He has a strong arm and is always looking for ways to get better. He would be an asset to any team and it would be crazy for someone to pass up on a guy like that.
