As a pitcher, Carl’s fastball velocity is usually in the high 80s, though it can reach into the low 90s (mph).

As a catcher, he averages just under two seconds on his pop time, but he’s been timed as low as 1.82.

At the plate, Carl is a switch-hitter who hits mainly for average, though he does have some pop.

Carl says, “I played a little left field along with catching and pitching in college at the Division 1 level. I grew up playing everywhere, but I mainly caught and pitched due to no one being able to fill the spots as well.

“I am energetic and positive . . . I take control of the field vocally when I step out. I am a private trainer at home so I find myself helping teammates often with their swings.”

Career Highlights

• Ranked #1 player in the state of North Carolina as a sophomore in high school

• Played for Pro5 Baseball Academy his junior and senior years, during  which time he played against college teams and worked with professional players daily

• Played in the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League in the summer of 2020

  • Struck out 18 batters in 13 innings of pitching

Staying in Shape

Carl works in a batting facility where he hit and throws on a daily basis.
