Canton has been primarily a catcher, but he also has significant playing time as a DH, 3rd base and rightfielder.
As a catcher, he averages 1.9 seconds on his pop time, and he is a good pitch-caller and receiver. At the plate, he has good power and can drive the ball to all fields. But he also is a patient hitter with the ability to make pitchers work. During his college career, he had a good walk rate.
Defensively, he has good speed and a strong arm, which enables him to be an effective outfielder. He has posted a time of 6.5 seconds in the 60-yard dash.
Canton describes himself as “very outgoing and extroverted. I love talking baseball to help myself and others improve their games. I am the type that lives and breathes extra work. I am always in the gym or the cage in any spare time. I stay in mid-season shape throughout the year.”
In high school:
Won multiple MVP awards
Posted the best batting statistics in the state as a catcher
Team captain for 3 years

Canton also has coaching experience that he can bring to a club. He has been an assistant coach and camp counselor at the high-school level and also a player-coach for his collegiate team, for which he created and led a daily offseason weight-training program and also a 10-week in-season program.
Canton wants to continue his baseball career and work his way up to the professional level. In addition, he wants the opportunity to experience new environments, as well as help others improve their games.
