As a relief pitcher, Cam features a two-seam fastball (low 80s velocity), change-up (low 70s), curve (low 70s), and slider (mid-to-high 70s).  At the plate, his exit velocity in college ranged in the mid-90s.  He is a contact hitter who hits to all fields with some power to the gaps.

Defensively, he is versatile, primarily playing second base and third base, and he can also slot in at shortstop – he started there in high school – or the outfield.  The velocity on his throws across the infield ranges in the low 80s (mph), while his throws from the outfield are usually in the mid-80s.

Cam is a very positive person, and he brings this type of energy to the clubhouse, practice field, and games.  He is a very supportive teammate who does whatever is needed to help his teammates and puts team goals ahead of individual ones.

Coaching Experience

Cam has a lot of coaching experience and is very interested in any opportunities to assist a club’s coaching staff.  He has been an assistant coach for travel teams, head coach of youth clubs, an assistant at the high school level, and a player development coordinator for youth baseball organizations.

“As a coach, I am about having fun and learning how to be an elite baseball player. I focus on the mechanics and eliminating mental mistakes in a positive manner. I am a people person so I understand the ups and downs of baseball and love to help people through those situations. I also pride myself on being there for my players outside of the game of baseball. My saying as a coach is “once you’re on my team I always be your coach, long after you stop playing on my team”

Guy Walsh

Memphis High School Coach, Head Coach

I would be more than happy to tell you a little about Cam.

First a little about our program. Memphis is a Division 3 high school just outside of Metro Detroit. We pride ourselves in running our baseball program like a college program. Most of our practices and drills are college-based. Our motto is: "Memphis Baseball is committed to providing a highly competitive baseball education developing quality young men in a championship atmosphere." We played in one of the most competitive Division 3 leagues in the state of Michigan. Our league had multiple state champions and state semi-finalists during my eight years coaching at Memphis. We also played a tough non-league schedule, playing multiple Division 1 and Division 2 schools.

Cam started working out with my High School Varsity team as a 9 year old. He was the team “ball boy” and participated in all the same drills as the 16, 17 and 18 year olds.

As a Freshman in high school, Cam was our starting second baseman and our leadoff hitter. He was also our number 3 pitcher. He was already our hardest worker during and outside of the season as well as one of our best players.

Cam's Sophomore and Junior seasons he moved to starting shortstop and number 3 hitter (I always put my best overall hitter at #3). He was a double and RBI machine for us, setting school records in both categories. Cam is extremely strong and a great hitter. He hits the ball all over the field and had just as many extra base hits to right center as he did to left center. He has a very high baseball IQ. He has won just about every award available, from All-League, All-Macomb County, All-Blue Water area, All-District, All-Region and even All-State as a Junior. This without even getting to play his Senior season since it was cancelled due to Covid 19. He has played at a very high level, playing in multiple high level tournaments throughout the Midwest, East Coast and South, playing against some of the best players and teams in the country. For as good of a player as he is, he is even a better young man. He has very high morals and always does the right thing even if it isn’t the popular thing.

I would highly recommend Cam for any team. He is a guy that can play all over the field and will be a great hitter no matter where he ends up. Watching him work out and hit the last couple of weeks, he has refined his swing and is hitting the ball harder and more consistent than he ever has. Any team would be lucky to have him as player and as a person.
